Traktor Pro Supports Denons 3700 Spinning Platter

Well between the DN-HS5500 and DN-S3700 both add up to 3 years and 1/2 for NI to work on the support of the spinning platter but NO they didn’t or they don’t what to, plus there is 1 year and 1/2 since the NS7 was release and now the V7, so now you have the Numark community trying to push for a support just like we did since 2007-2008, so what more NI wants?

VDJ and PCDJ Refelx (now RPM) got it working within weeks.

NI supported the new CDJ-2000 first and before that the CDJ-400, so I'm suspecting they don't want to support spinning platter just static or pressure sensitive platters, it seems that if they support spinning platter they will affect the sales of their Sound Card for time code operation or what? It’s just simply incomprehensible why we after years are still waiting for this type of support.

 

I still wait for support of my DN HS5500 before I buy.....

 

What I suspect is if and when NI decides to include support for the 'spinning platter' hardware they will come up with either a new TRAKTOR product or 'plugin' which will be sold seperately.

 

I don't know of any software other than Itch that has native support for spinning platters.

And don't tell me that this software and that software got the 3700 platter working because nobody would be here requesting NI for platter support if those other software were any good at it.

I too want to see the 3700 fully supported in Traktor. NI promised it and they should deliver.

I believe that platter support should be only available to Traktor Scratch owners. I made a thread about Traktor Scratch certified cd players before the 3700 was released. You guys should check it out, also check the link I posted to the Denon forums see what I asked Denon for long before pioneer ever thought about rekordbox and the rekordbox link.

 

Not forgetting VDJ which I have used since getting the s3700s... but tonight I'm going to start creating/modify a mapping using the s3700's in jog wheel mode. Any one got one with the LEDs working? please share...

At least I wish we had HID support, some Traktor information on the display and right working LEDs.

 

You can already have display info from traktor on the 3700. You can also midi map the display.

I started this mapping for my dn-s3700s from scratch and I can get the lights to work except the red light infront of the platter.
I can get the LCD symbols to display too but have not been able to get any LCD data like track name, artist, pitch and bpm etc... what am i missing? i'm using the midi values from the denon website...

 

Just add a hc4500 as a device in your controller manager, one for each deck. Then assign the in and out ports to the respective player.

 

I know I finished my TSI with working LEDs and stuff, but I don't get any track information on the displays. The last time I tried this with the 4500's config this did not work. Or is this possible now?

Edit: Alright I just tried, and it is possible to see the track's name on the display (thanks Wyley!). But I do only get one player to work. I've got two DNS-3700, one working on midi channel 6 and the other one on 6 (another story...:d). But I only get my right player's display (ch2) to work. Can you give me some advice Wyley?

Edit2: Alright made both work, just changed the Midi Channel on the left one to channel 1. And now I got to change my complete TSI... anyway, nice!

But what is exactly NI's problem. I made (as some of you will have done too) now one complete TSI with all LEDs working, working display and working platter support. I just can't scratch but I don't use that anymore. Can't be that difficult...

Yes it keeps scrolling on the display, but:

I tried it and it all matched, both displays worked. So I grabbed my stuff for the next gig, and what's happening there? Right, once again only one display worked. That s****. I tried all combinations from turning on both players together, waiting with starting TPro, changing Midi Channels once again but nothing worked. So it's all kinda "beta stated", it might work, but it doesn't have to. So I still hope for HID Plug & Play from NI!

 

This happens once and awhile.

All you need to do is go into the controller manager and reselect the in and out ports for the player that did not connect even if they are already selected.

Never have any of your in/out ports set to 'All Ports'

 

Still waiting for spinning platter support...

 

@JamesG_Tf: I also sold my SCS1Ds and got two DN-S3700 - it was a good decision. Now it´s time that NI gives full support to it ;-)

Where's NI-Traktor?

 

The "rumour" is that there might be a hybrid preset via firmware on the dn-s3700 that will allow basic transport controls for use with timecode (or music tracks) and the rest of the buttons will be used for midi/hid.

I'm excited to see what's coming up for the dn-s3700.
