That sounds great Wyley. However, I hope NI Traktor Pro would support the DN-S3700 platter via MIDI instead of timecode.

If someone already bought PRO, they would now have to purchase the Audio 4, 8 or a Scratch Certified Mixer.

Denon announced that "Something Big" is coming for dn-s3700 owners and that it would be "The World's First".

The hybrid preset seems logical since it could be done with a firmware update and it would be a world's first for any cdj media deck. Denon has proven that they can have a hybrid set up through there new mixer line. How ever it's all speculation.

I do believe that NI has been working on midi/hid platter support for a long time now (maybe on their spare time) and I do feel that the next major version of Traktor will have it.

He does mention Traktor Pro. ;) And that he can't tell which update will address it.

Even though, I think it should be available only for TSP owners.

the pitty about it is that when it probably will be supported in the future, the units may
    be outdated.
    :-(

    Denon 3700s

I also own two 3700s and I think NI should really consider giving us spinning platter support. It would be cheaper to replace TSP than my two Denons

Denon just came a up with a possible solution this past August 16, the DN-S3700 will soon be able to generate the Timecode within the unit (will have a Timecode generator directly from the DSP), so you would no longer need a Timecode CD or loaded in a USB, they call it Hybrid Mode.

Once in Hybrid Mode the unit will generate the timecode and the platter will spin and you will be able to map all other buttons, knobs etc. via MIDI. :D

Sorry mclub7, didn't see your message from a while back!

Are you using your S3700's with CD timecode on Scratch? If so how is it?

I'm still not buying any midi platters until there's native support.

Did you see the post on the SCS1D's recently? It looks like they are getting better with various Stanton patches etc, the video's look pretty good.

@JamesG_Tf: Yes, I´m using the CD timecode within TSP. It works well, but it´s not that I want because you always have to switch between timecode modes (rel, abs, midi) on my X1.
I want to use the play & cue buttons on my denon decks AND the X1 playing the tracks of TSP regardless the scratch mode and as I use the platter it should work without switch to a scratch mode. I hope this will be better with hybrid mode - or I´m doing someting wrong...

Denon are knocking some of their competitors out with a hammer blow at the moment.

Can you guys who are using the Hybrid mode post up a thread with your results.

i have tested the dns3700 with hybrid mode and traktor scratch pro.
see my results ..... this is what i a have posted in the denondjforum...
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
have tested the 2khz mode with traktor scratch pro.
i was very very amazed how good it worked with traktor
the timecode circle in traktor was perfect, unfortunately the calibration says unknown media calibration failed. :?
but it worked nearly perfect anyway. also all midi commands could be easily assigned, i have tryed this for all buttons.
i could imagine that some useres would also use is with taktor in that mode. for dropping a track via scratch i gues it is precise enough.

BUT imho the sticker drift was too big with traktor.
meaning if you choose a special beat or vocal to scratch over and over again, you will recognize that the sticker will drift away.
with the regular timecode from ni i did never have this problem. the sticker drift is always zero with the regular timecode.
    :-(

hopefully one day there will be an update that will fix this with traktor too. because this is a very very nice way to control your software.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

if anyone has an idea of how to fix the sticker drift in hybrid mode, let me know.

    cheers

    Thanks for the post.

    Seems promising.
Im not surprised that calibration fails as the medium is unknown because it is neither CD nor Vinyl so the software will not recognise it.
Maybe NI & Denon can work on this..?

Hmm, sticker drift. If calibration fails then this might be the consequence.

Maybe Denon will look into it. Have you filed this with Denon Support.

i have filed this just in the forum.
i am sure that they are already aware of the problem.

anyway i guess hybrid mode could be intresting for most of the users. because if you don't do heavy scratching you don't even recognize the sticker drift.

    cheers

Hybrid Mode is fantastic. I created my own TSI-File with LED-Output - it´s great.

Got only one problem with Hybrid Mode:

after loading a new track from the browser I always have to reset the track to the beginning via Seek Position - Reset. A macro for automating that doesn´t work on loading the track. Has anybody an idea?

I tested it and it looks promising. The hybrid firmware for the S1200 was pulled cause it needs to be worked on more.

I would like to see an NI certified timecode signal for hybrid mode to work like how it works for scratch live. Or better yet just native platter support.

It sucks that the only videos I can find that can show how f*#k'n great this unit is, is when it's being used with scratch live.
