OK I have pretty good idea of what this might be. As chachakoala said what soundcard are you using?
How did you go about reporting the problem? Do you have a support ticket number we can ask to have tracked? When did you first officially report it as a problem and how?

OK now we've got things under investigation let lok at what we can do to get you all fixed up.

First off I have to ask if this is a legit version of the code or a cracked version? There is one ou there that for some does crash all the time at startup. You'll have to forgive the question if you are using the demo or a legit version but I don't wanna waste everyones time tracking this down to a bad crack.

Next thing known to cause such crashes. Virii Yes viruseseseses. Specifically natsty ones that try to modify executable code. They'll have a tough time with Traktor and crashes are on the menu. Please make sure your system is Virus and specifically Rootkit free. If they are smart enough to modify bianry code they are sure as hell not gonna make it easy for you to find them and rooktis for expert viruses are common.

OK on to the likely culprit. Mismatched sound-card sample rate settings. for info on an already reported problem see here If your settings file has the default sound-card selected and its the only known sound-card in the system and its not an ASIO device then this potential exists. In this case Traktor can crash as it starts. If you have another sound-card also in the system but it is using different sample rates to your default device then this crash problem is likely your cause. First thing to try is going into windows control panel and for ALL Audio devices in the system Try to get them all using exactly the same sample rate 44.1 or 48K will be your best options. The downer to this is that while investigating this issue some weeks back I found systems that force high sample rates for optical and protected paths (HDMI) and will not allow analog devices like your ordinary sound-card to use those high sample rates. Net result you cannot get all sample rate to match and Traktor will always crash due to the FATAL BUG! that is in the code and has been for some time that is not yet fixed! I would guess the sample rate restrictions on the sound-cards is some idiots idea of an attempt to limit copying.
Make sure that you set all devices, playback & Record to the same rate!

If that does not work then an workable fix is to install ASIO4All and map you Traktor sound through that. ASIO4ALL is free, works in Windows Vista and 7 and on x86 and x64 its lighweight and is reasonably efficint in most cases. don't expect clean 2 msec audio latency with builtin sound you ain't getting it. But it may get you working at least.

I am running Traktor Scratch pro on a Dell Vostro 1700 with Audio 8 Dj and every 2 minutes Audio drops.
If I run it with a Numark Dj I/O after 2 minutes audio freezes until I close Traktor and restart to do the same thing.
I am running on won 7 64 bit ver.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

first thing to do is to look to see if your performance profile is setup to FORCE highest possible performance? make sure your system fans are running ant best speed and tun off things like wireless to see what happens. Being a dell I can't help thinking that that whole ACPI thing comes into it and if it does then my personal opinion is that the Vostro is a not a laptop you want to make Traktor run on. I'm certain other are gonna see it differently and you my find someone running a Vostro successfully without hacking up the system config to do it, and that is the help you really need.

thanks PHIL.... i installed ASIO4All and it worked. no more crashes but I get sound only from Deck A and not DECK B. (yes, i did check other threads where they ask you to see if u r playing the track in deck B internally or not but that didn't work) Another problem is that I can hear sound only from Traktor and no other applications if I am running Traktor. eg. If I want to watch a video on youtube then I have to close Traktor and then refresh the page or open that video is a new window just to hear audio :( I am using REALTEK Audio High definition soundcard. I think buying an external soundcard is the solution for the second problem. But that DECK B thing, I have no idea. Let me know. THANKS once again !... :D

Check to see if you have the system setup to run internal or external mixer. My guess would be you are running external mixer mode.
