I got the same issue. Even tried my D2's power supply and still no power. This is a common and very serious issue. Somebody also posted that it their unit takes a loong time to turn on but eventually does (like 45 minutes). Totally unacceptable.

My Traktor S8 is no longer turning on. The problem developed as described by many Traktor S8 owners. How can Native Instruments not care? Why don't they tell us what to do? They must know what is wrong with the device. I bought it second hand from Guitar Center and it started failing 2 months after. I didn't get to use it more than 10 times.

Simon, you can open de device by removing the screws on the rear. There is no need to remove the knobs nor the sliders. Use a thick towel to lay your S8, once you have removed the screws remove the rear part of the case. Then locate the small board in which the power connector goes. Remove the screws (4), then remove the board from its position. A plastic part attached to that board that keeps it aligned to the USB port and the power jack will come out when you remove the board, don’t be afraid, you can put it back later. There are some removable cables connected to that board that might not be well connected, push them in, so that you make sure that they become well connected. Connect the power supply and turn on the device. It should work.
If the device is still under warranty you can ask NI to fix it for you, if not, you can do it. Don’t be afraid, it’s not a big deal.
note: There is one extra screw under the warranty sticker.
I spent months with the device failing to power on very often until it never worked. again. I took the risk and fixed it.

For months I tried to find an answer on the web, but nothing was available, only people like me asking the same question. It happened to be a very easy fix. Good luck!

I own S8 for several months, just S8 stopped turning on, although I trained on it all day, I hope this is a temporary problem, since tomorrow I was going to play online stream on facebook, it’s very strange

Same as everyone else... started dropping power in the middle of sets, reboots (popping my monitors in the process), then stops the music altogether. Tried re-seating the power cable, had it apart (nothing untoward).. not sure whether to bother with a new power supply as I’m not sure where the issue is. Come on Native Instruments, show this thread some love. What can we do or are we heading over to Record Box or Serato?

Hey, not a solution, but an observation (after playing with my S8 endlessly yesterday) - the power switches off almost consistently when I press the Browse button on Deck A (on the same side as the power in). So, if you’re trying to select an effect for example on Deck A... down she goes.

Also, it does it like this about 5 times, then it seems to settle and be stable for a bit. So now I start my deck, cycle it a few times until it’s stable, then play my set. Hopeless and frustrating, but it’s a workaround. Does anyone else have the same observations?

S8 turned after 3 days, strange of course. Now it works, but of course I doubt that I will use it for performances outside the house, but I still love it, even with these glitches
