    Hi all,

Now that Traktor Duo and Traktor Scratch Duo are announced, I am sure there will be a number of questions regarding the new versions. This is the official questions thread, so post any questions here and I will make sure that as much as possible gets answered.

But first of all, please make sure to check the product pages and especially the comparison chart that lists the feature differences between the Pro and Duo versions:

    Regards, Thomas

The current information about the Recording Feature in the comparison chart is wrong. Both DUO versions cannot record.

True, these columns in the chart obviously got mixed up. Both Pro versions can record, both Duo versions can't.

    Question:

Can Duo have it's own subforum?

Sorry, no. You really cannot expect that feature for such a low price.

However the manual includes a blank page where you can write down feature requests, complaints etc.

The video was cool, nice to see two former DMC beasts on the cut.

DAMNIT I knew it was posted already...GRRRR

    ----------------------

    Dear Thomas,

If I have Traktor Scratch Pro and 2 Audio 8's, what do I have to do to upgrade to the brand spanking new, shiny, enhanced Traktor Scratch Duo with blank page feedback option? I don't see this? Also, do I get Machine free? Some Asian Canadian said I could. And a thong, or some other piece of clothing to cover up my GENITALIAAAAAA:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqXi8WmQ_WM"]YouTube - Show Me Your Genitals[/ame]

Also, I'm using my Macbook Pro and I cannot cue from the headphone slot if I plug it into speakers. Your software is buggy.

Also, can you supply me with a midi map for product xxxxx? I don't know how to load the one that's included. Your software is buggy.

Also, Thomas, I found a bug. When I load Traktor Scratch Duo, it says Traktor Scratch Pro and I have 4 decks. Your software is buggy. Fix it or I'm gonna buy Serato Scratch Duo Pro ^ 4.

Also, which soundcards do you recommend for timecode? Can I use my built in soundcard as it is 5.1 surround sound enhanced? Also, can I use midi to control the other 2 decks? Also, which midi device should I use to control decks C & D in Traktor Scratch Duo? Also, where does the microphone go in my 5.1 surround sound card? Also, what is midi? Also, I'm dumb.

Chilly pretty much covered all my questions except one. Is this going to be a free upgrade for TSP users?

Being serious for a moment (if you can) where does TS Duo sit in relation to the original TS?
(The last time I looked) there's an upgrade available from TS to TS Pro for about 70 euros.

Another serious question, as this version has less features, is it also therefore optimised and requires less cpu resources etc?
I had made the decision earlier this evening to give up on TS for now as I didn't think I was going to get an acceptable balance between timecode responsiveness and audio quality without spending more than I wanted to on a new laptop. Actually sent the request to "sell my copy" to registration support, clicked back to the homepage and see the link about Craze and Klever and as you can probably imagine uttered a few expletives.

Way to confuse the market even more NI!

Traktor 3/ Traktor Scratch Pro/ Traktor Pro/ Traktor Duo/ Traktor Scratch Duo/ Audio 8/ Audio Kontrol 1/ Audio 4 DJ

    VS

    Serato Scratch LIVE

No wonder why Serato is leading the market.

2 programs you cant even Demo cus they have one player.
What is the use of that. Its like going to test drive a new car only to find you can sit in it but they wont give you the keys.

Way to confuse a new entrant into digital djing.

And yeah ive been corrected by my Stateside friends for this but in UK, meh not so much the Marker Leader in my experience . I know 7 Traktor DJs in my town and a few more that say they use it. I know one Serato DJ and he plays HipHop only.

So, what's the best software for us timecode users, Scratch Pro or Scratch Duo ?

Is it the same software with less effects and features? Any difference in audio engine?, has Scratch Duo the same keylock algorithm as in Scratch Pro?

Is it possible to install the demo version on the same PC as Scratch Pro or will it mess up the Scratch Pro installation?

I want quality and I'm not really satisfied with Scratch Pro...

the bits (executable file) of the four traktor versions are exactly the same. the serial number you enter during the activation process decides which version can be used.

so yes, the software is the same, audio engine is the same, key lock algorithm is the same.

and I'm not really sure yet if Traktor Scratch Duo is a good way to use timecode. Because DUO only has Master Clock Mode Auto, and I don't trust the Auto Mode when using timecode (there are several other threads about master clock mode and timecode problems)

Would you mind sharing your issues (or pm me a link if you've posted elsewhere) please?
After watching the DMC video I was of the mind that I should upgrade to TS Pro and my issues (responsive timecode OR good audio quality AND terrible master tempo/key lock) with TS were just related to my hardware.
Every time I get confident and reach for my wallet I'll come across a post like yours that then puts doubt back in my mind.
