hi, i just got me a traktor scratch duo, i installed it just now, and it worked fine on my turntables ü
I just have a couple of questions, i hope u guys can help me ü

-the left deck on traktor, deck A seems to have an Oblong shaped calibration circle, but it works fine, should i be concerned about this? Should it be a perfect circle?

-when i right click on a song on one of my folders, it dosent show the typical "load track to deck A or B" etc... It just shows "add or import to collection" And "Not Editable" is shown at the lower right corner. i acces my music folder by clicking explorer/desktop/my mp3 folder, i then right click add to collection. I imported my old playlist from my traktor 3 le to my traktor scratch duo, everything is fine when im clicking on a song from a playlist or from the collection folder, it shows the typical "load to trac A or B. How can i fix this?

-i tried playing on two turntables, without ever clicking on any switch for line or phono in the software, everything was fine, the soundcard flashed phono. i havent tried it on cd players, where can i switch it from phono to line and vice versa? the manual said it was located in set up tool, but i cant find it!

-about latency, i left it as it is, at 5.5ms, i think this is the lowest, is it safe to run it this low? Im using a vaio laptop, core2duo 2.0, 2gb ram, 250hd. Should it raise it up a bit?

-while traktor scratch duo is turned on, audio 4 soundcard on, is it ok for the rca cables (mixer side) to be unplugged? Im asking this because the dj who opens for me uses serato, and after his last song, im just gona hook up my multicore cables to the mixer, 1 deck first, coz his last song is stil playing on the other deck, is it ok to run th one deck at a time with one rca not yet hooked up 2 d mixer?

Scratch Duo vs Serato

So I'm thinking of getting the Scratch Duo and I wanted to find out if is as good as Serato or is Serato better....thanks for your insight

 

I've got a problem with traktor duo acting strange if I leave full screen mode. It doesn't crash as such, because if there's music playing then it will continue to play and the waveform continues to move, it's just that it doesn't respond to any keyboard/mouse commands so I can't close it or return it to fullscreen. Any ideas?

You just need to change the input from the appropriate deck (A/B/C/D) from "scratch control" to "audio through". You can do this by clicking on the arrow under the deck letter which brings down a small menu.

Will Scratch Duo be compatible with Windows 7 when it comes out in October?

 

Just purchased TSD as I needed another soundcard for a computer at home and just for s#!ts and giggles I installed it onto my daughters MSI Wind netbook running OS X 10.5.7 and it works a treat!

Most of the time it sits around 40% CPU but when you load a track it jumps to 80% for about 30 seconds then settles back down. I've turned off analyze on load so I'm not sure what's causing it.

I'm running it at 4ms and 128Mb cache and have not heard any clicks or pops yet but I've only been testing it for about an hour.

2 questions I have ... how do I assign "key commands" to shortcut things like loading a deck (I use "command left arow/right arrow" in TSP) and how do I close the effects/filter/key/gain section in between the 2 decks as I'd like a bit more realestate on the tiny screen?

You can't assign hotkeys like in TSP in TSD, in TSD the hotkeys are fixed...see comparison chart:

Where would I find a list of the key commands then? All I really want to do is have a load track shortcut ...

Would it be possible to load a TKS file from Pro into Duo?

Not that any of this actually matters as I use Pro on my computer but it is actually quite cool that the program can run on such a low spec'd computer.

 

I got my Traktor Scratch Duo yesterday really happy with it. One question everything seens to be working but when it goes to calibrate my cd's i get the following message

"Unknown medium. Calib. failed".

Pushing the RST button doesn't help! everything sounds good is this a problem should I do something else....

I'm using two CDJ's 1000MK2

On the documentation folder of the Native Instruments folder under Traktor Manual the last few pages has the list of key commands.

The command your looking for is:

Load to Deck A
Ctrl + Arrow Left
Load to Deck B
Ctrl + Arrow Right

 

Question: can Traktor developing team fix this ridiculous BPM calculating in the async process?
this is all wrong!

That´s why hiphop DJs use Serato Scratch Live: they like to sort tracks by bpm, and the Scratch Live overview builder always give the right bpm....


Traktor Scratch Pro is a great software/hardware, but this is really bugging everyone i know who use Traktor and play hip hop or other stiles sometime..

 

i analyzed about 12gb worth of mp3s from my playlist, is it normal after analyzing to eat up a couple of gigs on my hd? Ü

 

Yes, that is normal!
Because Traktor writes the newly gathered information (BPM, Cuepoints etc.)
into the mp3-tags of each file and therefore changes the size < of all the mp3-files...

i have a follow up question,
I analyzed 2gb worth of mp3s in one of my playlists, i checked my hd status and it ate 2gb worth of space on my hd? Is it supposed to be this way? If i analyze all of my mp3s thats about 30gb, its gonna eat 30gb worth of space in my hd? Hmmmm...

 

Hhm, that's def way to much....with my files it just adds a really small amount of size...but doubling the actual filesize...that can't be right!
