You can use one turntable to control both decks. I used to do that when I was working in a place with a cramped DJ console. Used one Pioneer CDJ1000MKIII with a DJM 400. Just change the assignment on the player to the other deck when you've mixed in the other song. Sure beats pressing buttons on the keyboard which is why we use timecode CDs or records in the first place.

This beat gridding in my opinion is 90% bang on the rest of the time BE WARNED it does not work correct !

Some of my Fav tracks , Modern music from digital files , go out of sync at the end but yet the intro is bang on beat ... And then i can get a dogey vinyl ripp and it will stay in sync all the way. (my best markers are fine b4 u ask , if i move markers correct at outro ,, intro then goes out of time and visa versa)

After loads of research once again its another 1 of the "What Traktor didnt tell us" kind of things. I saw on previous post its so true , if basic software can auto beatmatch tracks with ease why is there flaw when it comes to beat gridding.

I really wanna get stuck into play my Traktor out in the clubs / radio etc but every time i get some where Up pops yet another annoying thing traktor cant do. which then makes me not able to do a certain action.

So far i have learnt with Traktor Duo

SYNC - Does not work with timcoded
BEAT GRIDDING - Only works 90% of the time (even tho a tune is Digital modern music)

minor things can make such a difference when plucking the courage to go digital !

hi guys its my first post

I've been using TSD for a two months but recently one problem has occureed.

i've got a problem with master/sync options in traktor duo.
The problem is that traktor changes master deck few times during the song with no reason which cause whip of a track for a moment which is realy anoying and damage the mix.

Another thing is that like you were saying in previus posts i've never sorted out how to use sync feature with timecode vinyls. It works corectly when i mix with internal mixer and mouse but when i plug my decks and start playing vinyls ......... so far it have never worked. Please guys help if you know how to solve my problems cause i really want to start recording my mixes and with this staff im preety stuck .....:(

i'd really like to have an example track from you to confirm that.

of course, there ARE tracks that have drastic tempo changes, but in 90% of all cases where ppl where claiming the track couldnt be beatgridded and sent it to me, it wasnt the track.

OK - check your sync settings and see if it's AUTO. If so that may be the reason your master deck changes back and forth.

Also, SYNC in Traktor using timecode does not override the tempo dictated by the timecode record. The only thing SYNC does at this point is match up beatgrids at the point you've pressed the button, then the songs proceed at their previous tempo.

I must disagree Telly....It does change the bpm of the track played (withing the set pitchrange) to the bpm of the masterdeck, but as it is vinyl on a turntable and therefore the TTs might have some wobble or uneven speed it might not work 100%...also, the deck you wanna sync needs to be playing!
Since I own traktor I have only touched the pitchfader to do minimal adjustments or for turntablismpurposes...but my beatmatching days are over!;)

there are two key buttons that work slightly different, one in the waveform (the note) and the other a knob somewhere in the center of the GUI for every channel called key. the knob is on if the small light is lit blue.

    Hello,
This is the first post i am posting in this forum since i am seriously thinking of buying the scratch Duo package.
I know sometimes people asking the same things over and over again gets annoing, so i will try to summerise my questions to issues i havent found answers in this forum.

First of all let me tell you that i have read this forum extensively and searched a lot about the following clarifications i am requesting. Also i have read ALL of the 25 pages at this threat.
Before i start let me say that i have been searching for a timecoded package for the last month or so; first i saw Traktor then serato, mixvibes, spin! 2+ and some more i dont remember but i decided to go with traktor Scratch DUO and work my way up.

    So...

i ) Selecting tracks to load at decks. I understand that vinyl timecodes have a "track selection" part on the record where you can spin the record and select the next track from your library. Does this apply to the timecoded CDs also? I found this, It says that there is a track in the CD that does that. Is that rigth ?

ii) I will be using a 3 channel mixer with a Phono/Line/Line per channel switch (3 sellections). Will it be like swiching from real records/cds to timecode Vinyl/cd in the flip of my mixers sel knob ? I guess the cables provided, sort that out, as i ve watched the connection set up tutorial.

iii) Upgrade. It seams i can buy the Scratch DUO with the audio 4 and then upgrade only the software to PRO, and work fine.

    iv) I saw this
I really hope this is NOT true about reloop as i am planning to buy 2 of those (My old Pionner 100s died beyond repair). Any comments on these Cd players ?

    v) Can you briefly explain the Absolute Mode, Relative Mode or any other mode available when DJing with timecodes please?

vi) How is cueing with cds nowadays ? I found out from several posts here that if you dont use the key lock / master tempo option on your player everything runs smooth, is that true ? And if yes, is there an option to have Traktor manipulate the sound so as to keep the key tone while i am using the pitch at my cd ?

Anyways this is getting a long post to read and probably answer, i will really appreciate any answers about the above. Next time (maybe) i sign my posts as "product owner"
Thank you all, will answer all replies .

    Hi Komodino
First of, Welcome to the forum!;)

As for all the Cd-related-Question, I'm gonna leave those to the Jocks who actually use CDs, cuz I don't wanna spread any halftruths here or speak about a subject about which I'm not 100% sure, but as for question:
ii.) Yes, you can switch from normal vinyl to timecode vinyl by simply flipping the switch! So I'm guessing it works the same way with Cds...
iii) Yes, you can upgrade from TSDuo to TSPro and keep on using the Audio 4 Dj (which of course means you'll only have enough in/outs for 2 decks!) Other than that it works fine!
    v.)
Absolute mode vs. Relative mode when using CDJs:

    Hope I could help!
