yes, it's track 3 on the timecode CD.

with timecode vinyl, you would connect the vinyl/line to change from normal to timecode vinyl. using timecode CDs and normal CDs you'd use line/line. also explained in the manual (you can get it if downloading the demo from the NI website).

well, the A8 offers so much more... think about the easiness of recording your set... etc. - if you're considering to upgrade your software, i'd wait until i had all the money for buying the full TSP package, not duo...

just download the traktor demo from the website - the manual is included and this is explained in there (it's a bit too lengthy to be explained in one sentence...).

the rest of the CD questions i cant answer because i'm not using CDs :)

if you read about it on the traktor site duo and pro both decide which track should be master. Thats why it will choose 1 that is playing instead of the the 1 you want to play. if you mess with the bpm control on the deck you want to be master bring it to the speed to match the opposing deck than try to hit master again. it usually works for me

i dont quite understand what ur saying scotty fats... I understand that the song that is playing is goin to be the master and the song that i am gooin to mix into is goin to be the slave but what is happning to me is in the middle of my mix without touching anytiing and with both tracks synced (not pressing the sync button) the program will glitch or freeze and then the master gets switched over to the other deck weird very weird..

not remembering exactly - can you choose MAN mode (instead of auto) in scratch DUO?

btw, your podtings are spread enough around the place now, ok? ;)

I played last weekend Using Traktor Scratch Duo & a total control midi.

When I did a 3 hour gig playing House music which is pretty straight down the middle Intro into outro mixing it was great, But when i was playing more of a mix up of music to a crowd and not just playing Modern day beatport house as back ground music , I really didnt get into it.

1 thing I dont care how good these beatgrids are , they drift and they seem to not LOCK 100% , Way i felt it was mixing when using Auto Sync was very un natural , My beatgrids was Bang on white markers hitting the waves. (ive used Acid Pro etc for years so im pretty good with it) , For me it just struggled to always be perfect. Yes some times it was Bang on , but still i felt it wasnt what its all cracked up to be.

I don't think i will be using traktor Duo on a regualr basis again , unless i get a 3-5 hour set playing straight down the middle Digital House music. other than that my digital DJing experince has not been what i expected it to be, from timecodes to midi devices Im yet to be amazed with this way of DJing. this is just my opinion from a working DJ

    Hi,
First of welcome to the forum!;)
Well in Duo, the "option" "Snap" is always enabled so, cues as well as looppoint can and will always and only be placed on beatgridmarkers! In Pro you can turn off snap, but sadly this is not possible in Duo!

    As for setting cuepoints:
For Deck A keys on keyboard 1-4 and shift + keys 1-4 set and store cuepoints 1-8
For Deck B keys on keyboard q-r and shift + keys q-r set and store cuepoints 1-8
for more info please checkt the pdf manual!
    Greetz and merry christmas

Well, that my friend you gotta decided for yourself...I can't possibly know if you need the extra effects and options that TSP has to offer over TSD!

Hello, I have 2 concerns that maybe complicated. I hope I can explain it clear... :p

    (1.) Autogain

After when I check the box in: Pref/Mixer/Level/Set Autogain When Loading Track,
I'm trying to find a way where I can lock the 'gain' on the mixer when I load any track after when I adjust the gain. Its seems like the 'gain' will reposition itself to default when I load the same track over and over again.

I understand that the 'Autogain' is analyzed by the volume level of the song. But some song has one or couple of high volume level points, higher than the song, that makes the 'Autogain' to analyze those points; making the whole song's volume level little lower.

    (2.) FX

This issue maybe posted before. Recently I wanted to use both channel of 'FX' (1 and 2) on the mixer for both decks (A and B), so that I can use more than 3 effects for each deck. However, while the 'FX' channel selection is still presented on the mixer in orange, I cannot choose to use both channel for one deck. If I can recall, I think I did had that option to choose both 'FX' channel for one deck.

Is there any hope for me to select both 'FX' channel for each deck? Are there any XML tricks I can do? :p

    Thanks in advance

Nope, there are no XML tricks to use both FX section for both decks in Duo, this feature sadly only is available in Pro...used to piss me off as well back when I was still using DUO!

As for the autogain problem...I guess the only thing you can do is either:

    1.) turn off autogain
    or
2.) readjust the gainlevel on your mixer!

;) shucks... I was hoping the XML would do the trick :p A months ago, I didn't have any issues with DUO. As time rolls on, and my performance on DUO progresses...; my need starts to increase:cool: . I'll live with what I got.

And as for autogain, I should post that in my FLOP on the "Your TOP/FLOP" topic :p What I'm gonna do is to type some kind of note next to the name of the song or artist in the list saying, "Turn It UP!."

Thanks Strategy. Happy New Years to you and to everyone at NI! .... ... and especially for DUO users :p
