Is the Macbook Air 13" (1.8ghz Intel Duo, 2gb RAM) up for running Traktor Scratch Duo

Has any one had any experience?

iirc, somebody here confirmed that performance on the MB Air is fine. You might wanna do a forum search and try to locate the thread.

however, my concern would be that the air isn't future-proof. CPU and chipset are based on four-year old technology. intel launches the next laptop technology in two weeks or so. at that point, the air will be two major generations behind the state-of-the-art.

It's thinner but better is a subjective word!

I like the MBP better as it can handle multiple tasks, I also hate the fact that on the MacBook airs you're paying for such old chip technology, Intel are almost up to 2 gens faster than Core2duo and Apple claim, "everything webe learnt so far has gone into this laptop.

MacBook Airs for suckers IMO or people who need really really thin laptops I guess

imo, MBP 15" is the best Apple out there... (or 17" if you can live with the size which you obv can't since you're considering the Air)

Well now that Intel and Nvidia have settled their ongoing lawsuit, perhaps Apple's bottom line will see the benefits sooner rather than later... aka ULV Core i3s in the Air or MacBook Pro 13 inch.

    The Core 2 Duo's in the Air aren't that bad/old: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=36689 ;)
