traktor scratch duo registration error on 2nd computer

I have the Traktor scratch duo 2 and have installed on a pc laptop, with no problems. I had ordered a new mac with OS Lion. It installed fine but when I go to activate the product, I have a problem.

Right after I enter the serial number it says, the serial number is wrong or does not match your product - i checked over and over, it is not entered in wrong. However the activate tab is bold, so i press it. After a minute or so, it says, failed - internal error. I have uninstalled and reinstall. I have uninstalled on my old laptop to no avail.

I have heard you can install scratch on 2 computers. Why am i getting this error. I'm thinking about just buying the pro.

Any suggestions? I am at a lost.

 

Were both computers "NI Service Center" online on when you tried to activate the other one? Makes sure that only one computer is on line.

 

I've completely uninstalled service center and traktor altogether from the old computer, still getting the error.

 

That's odd. Because I have 2 Dell laptops and have installed and activated my TSP on them with no problems. I use one (the older) purely at home and the other one for gigs.

Let's wait for the moderators to pitch in. They may have the answer and solution to this problem.

 

I hope so cause this is not good. I'm at work now but when i get home I'm gonna attempt at a full uninstall of traktor on the mac, by going into individual files and removing it. then reinstalling. I'm also getting an error when it tries to do a self update, i'm thinking the two are related some how. I'm not a mac guy, don't really need it, just got it for this cause people said macs are best but it's not looking that way.

 

Are you installing from a CD installer that came with the package or downloaded from the NI site?

I have a TSD as well with an installation CD but upgraded to TSP in 2010 when I purchased online.

 

I'm installing from a cd. When you activate it does give you and option to buy. That's why I thought maybe I can just buy the pro, which is just $89, which would give me a new serial number (i would think). Plus the pro looks awesome, especially the 4 decks and recording option.

 

The Pro does have more bells and whistles and worth the extra $89. But you can't use the C & D decks when you're using Audio4DJ. However, with Audio6DJ, you can use the extra channel for a 3rd deck or for recording.

 

My package came with the audio 6, so i can use that 3rd channel? what about the 4th channel? how's the audio recording? clean?

 

Yes you can use the 3 channel for either deck C or for recording. It can't do both deck C & recording at the same time. You will have to choose either of them only. The recording is ok as it can record in WAV file. So that's pure uncompressed digital audio.

 

awesome, the pro sounds like it is worth the extra cash, let's just hope the activation process works. thx for all the info!

 

If you have Traktor DUO 2, Pro 2 is a free upgrade. Log in to your account from the tab you see at the top right of NI's website, and go check out your account inside "products and serial numbers".

 

djdoraemon all i see is the key for duo 2, weird, looks like when installed on the mac, it's pro 2 not duo, what the heck?

He needs the scratch software because he uses time code. Traktor Duo 2 or Traktor Pro 2 won't work with time code.

 

Scratch DUO2 gets a free upgrade to Scratch PRO2 too.

 

reading the other thread of iphrasany, it seems he got the wrong update.
pls contact the support!

 

Make sure you have the latest version of service center. Download it from the NI website. The version on the CD may be a little out of date.
