Before thinking about sound quality
Try to Jack your Headphone(good headphone) direct to NI-AudioInterface directly
and then Listen From your Mixer
From my Experience a cheap mixer will make soundquality from Traktor with NI-Soundcard Drop....Try It your self

 

yes i know, but sound quality depends essentially on AD/DA converters, CPU architecture, audio drivers and time stretch algorithm used.

do you have compared Ableton Live 8 with TSP ?

in my opinion Ableton Live 8 sounds better..... cause time stretch algorithm used is better.

you have to remember that Traktor use this algorithm to change phase and pitch, that from a formal point of view (audio quality) is an alteration of the original waveform. NI have to pay licenses to have the best technology in this sense.

i will buy TSP 2 (hardware, software, audio driver upgrade) also because i think that in 3 years, some things are changed in a better way.

i know that there are commercial reasons to sell, but this is the world in which we live.

An Intel i7 is better than an i5
An Intel i5 is better than an i3 and so on.

if you want to have the TOP you have to spend money.

So summarizing i think that TSP 2 package (software, hardware, audio drivers and time stretch algorithm) is better than TSP and in some ways this is NI says in particular regarding audio quality.

 

My idea
You can download a demo and run it for 30 mins before you decide the best way for you. For me I am going to upgrade the hardware and the software because I think that is the best option for me.

 

i agree i have done an upgrade from TSP EDU to TSP2 full (399 euro)
