I have trouble using effects on CDj-400 and Traktor.
Some effects like "roll" work but others like "trans" and "bubble" don't?
    Any ideas why?

Also, sometimes calibration fails but it still plays the song? Do you know the reason why and how to fix it without restarting Traktor?

Sync button - I tried syncing songs but in most cases they are out of sync and I can't lock it to stay in sync? Is this related to gridlines that aren't always aligned with the beat? Do I need to readjust gridlines for each song?

    Thanks,

    magik

To start with, I'm assuming that you're using the current "available version" and not the one that is currently in development (which offers CDJ-400 HID-support) ...

What you need to understand is that when you control the system with timecode, all the CD-player "sees" is the timecode; this means that effects that work by playing parts of the code again and again - like loops, "roll", etc. can actually work just fine - because what they do can be converted to "movements of the platter".

However, effects that "mutate" the sound into something else, like "trans", "bubble", etc. will not work. The timecode is just "position information" being fed to Traktor. Only after Traktor has analysed and decoded it will it be "music" that gets fed to your mixer.

Edit: Furthermore... even after HID is implemented, I don't believe those effects will work. It might be (but this is a long shot) that the effects will be mapped to Traktor's internal FX, but as said - that is a long shot.

I assume v1.2 version will be available through the Service Center?

Can you map traktor effects to a mixer? Let's say one traktor effect (i.e. "delay") to existing mixer filters (i.e. xone 62 HPF, BPF, LPF or any available knobs on a mixer) or I can only assign it to the keyboard?

    Thanks

Yes v1.2 will be available thru Service Center to all users that are entitled to it.

To map Traktor Effects to a Mixer the mixer must be Midi enabled.
You could not map anything to the Xone 62 as it does not have Midi.

Even though I can't say anything for certain (as I don't have any affiliation with Native Instruments) I strongly believe your assumption to be correct. As long as I can remember the updates for "major release updates" have been free (meaning that if you have version 1.0.x of something, you get 1.1 as an update ... but if you have 1.0.x, you'll need to purchase an "update pack" to get 2.x - pretty much the same goes with a number of software companies; if you have Windows XP, you get Windows XP SP1 for free, but to get Windows Vista you'll need to put in some "greenbacks")

This is what i gathered; only reason for stating it is to not have anyone think you could do something with your current version that you can't ... and since I don't know about the next release (anything that hasn't been posted about it) I'm not willing to put myself into a position where people would say "but this guy said it (the next version) could do something (that it doesn't))".

Just protecting my back, that's all ;)

Edit: corrected a minor typo that changed the whole meaning of my post :)

Can I get a controller to work with Traktor and Xone 62?
Do you have any suggestions on what to get?

    Thanks!
