    Hey there.

    Here is the story.

I was using away @ TSP on my DELL XPS Laptop with CDJ100's & DJM 800.

Things were working great until I got the update about a month ago.

Now I am experiencing a massive bug where Everytime I load a new track or basiclly touch any effects on the djm the track that is playing cuts out for 3 seconds and then continues.

I have had my laptop looked at and its running fine. All other programmes are fine its just TSP.

Im aware that a lot of people have reported problems like this but Im not sure how to go about getting it fixed.

Im currently running Vista but am considering Windows 7.

Mac is not an option @ this time as I my laptop is so new.

Not being up on all the cpu slang and overly technical any help opn this is most welcome!

have you updated your bios? Dj Quartz has a thread up about dpc latency with the Dell studio line. I personnally have the Studio XPS 1640, updated my bios about a month ago, no spikes, or drop outs when using the FX. What are your system specs?

    dj mjg,
that is good to hear, been thinking about windows 7.Although my latency is at 5ms with 64 bit vista. I can run TSP with my wireless turned on. All it took was an update of the bios. dpc spikes are gone, which means no "pops" or "clicks" when running TSP.
    dj nielo,
are you using your djm 800 mixer as a midi controller? the problem might be with that and not your system. The Dell Studio XPS line is more than capable of running TSP. it may be something in the midi mapping of the djm 800. I have heard that it is not the best option for a midi controller, but a great mixer anyway.

Do you have your wireless disabled when you're using Traktor?

yes it happend once with my wireless off but lately i have been doing way more than that ... i disable a whole bunch of devices.. webcam, dvd drive, internet, etc.... for the past two days i havent had one problem .. only taht sometimes the scratching sounds a bit grainy .. something new i discovered but not a big problem i dnt scratch much. Maybe disabling everything turning off antivirus and all that solved things..but i dnt trust it to much yet i will keep spinnin and see if i get the same problem... any other advice or suggestions would be AWSOME! what latency settings are good?

Usually the scratching sounding grainy is due to not having 'Scratch' selected in the audio preferences.

As you own a Dell laptop, go to the Dell site and search for support for your machine.. there should be a download area with all the latest bios and drivers and the utilities to have them installed.

    latency

i update to windows 7 too m8. after the last update of traktor scratch pro i did a gig where the program was a constant glitch and ran sluglish. i run the very same system as you. i found the program reset the latency in my setting to 75.5 mili seconds ( hence major glitching) check that your is low because ur laptop will more than be able to handle tsp

75.5 miliseconds? Didn't know that it went that high. Not sure what is going on with your system. I just palyed on NYE, and didn't have a problem at all. Added a ZeRO SL MKII to my setup, ran all night long at 4.5ms. I am not really sure if shutting down, wifi, antivirus, etc really makes a difference. I have run TSP at home with all that stuff on and downloading tracks at the same time. I may wait to upgrade to Windows 7, right now Vista is working well, I guess I shouldn't fix what aint broke:S. The only thing that I changed recently was the HD. Turns out that my original one was deffective, I use to hear this clicking sound when the lap top was on. The Dell Tech came to my house and put in a new one. The new one is a Toshiba MK5055GSX, now my system runs super quiet, I don't even realize the fan is on. I am running Vista Home Premium 64-bit service pack 2.

m8 i had a disaster of a gig lasnite... traktor went hocus pocus on me last night. rig was 2 1000's djm 800 runnin traktor via audio 8 and timecode. signal was running into 2 and 3 on mixer. suddenly the signal went. for about a minute i would say on the mixer, but traktor remained to play as normal.. i checked all 4 channels of my mixer. same result. i bypassed audio 8 and use a jack out of laptop to one channel of mixer using internal mode on tsp. and same stori. mixer is one year old and so is its coffin case. dunno if its hard ware or software.

ps. i used cd's on channels 1 and 4 for remainder of night with no hickups. hence 1 and 4 channels are perfect but traktor did not work on them
