hey guys, i'm testing the new scratch version. when i connect a cable on "channel C input" of my audio 8, to record a mix, the deck C is acting crazy, trying to calibrate. but i don't want to control it as scratch mode. i've set deck C to internal playback but it still try to calibrate when the audio signal enter. anyone can help me? i can't turn off the "channel c input" cause i need it to record. and i want to use 4 decks. A and B on scratch mode and C and D on internal playback (using only outputs for them).

    all the best!

Make sure to double check your input routing settings. Make sure your recording channel is set to Channel C.

no, no. i have no problem with recording. the recording is ok! the problem is: the deck C is recognizing the audio signal entering in channel C as a timecode signal. so the deck C is acting crazy. :(

Try removing the assingments in Input routing for Channel C and see if that fixes your problem.

Ok I think I know what you're referring to now.

Channel C is not seeing the recording as a timecode. Unfortunately when you set the input for recording it doesn't disable the scope.

So you will see the scope freaking out because of the incoming signal.

Click on the arrows beneath C & D and select internal mode. It sounds like they are in Scratch Control mode right now.

I have the same problem as komka, I have my rec out from my mixer DJM-800 connected to channel C input. If I remove the assignments as Phil suggested then there's no sound at all...

    I've also selected C & D as Internal Playback.

There's also the same problem if I use channel D instead of C.

Any suggestions? Hate to say this but the same setup worked in Traktor 3...

yes! i used the same setup on traktor 3 and worked perfectly. the fact is: i can't use 4 decks and record at same time on this version. if i disable input routing of decks C or D, traktor doesn't recognize the audio signal coming from my mixer. if i leave input routing, the audio signal makes deck crazy, changing the pitch, jumping, etc. technical crew, please give us a feedback! thank you!

The only thing which helps here is to deassign the channels you don't use as timecode inputs. have a look at dialog preferences, page Timecode Setup, section "Assign to Decks". The channel you don't use for Timecode must not be assigend to a deck.

There is currently no way to deassign in the user interface itself. This must be done with a mapped hotkey.
Map the command TIMECODE | ASSIGN DECK TO SCRATCH CONTROL, Interaction Mode: DIRECT, Set to value: NO INPUT and select the deck to deassign in the list ASSIGNMENT.

Thanks, I'll try that, but I still think it should be some way to fix this in the user interface under Timecode setup with simply deselect the deck from the timecode you don't want to use or it should be disabled when Internal Playback is selected.

@rainerh This is offtopic but, have you been able to write a 60 page Midi Bible in 10 days?, I'm amazed :D Is it poosible that you'll translate it to English? And the book Traktor Bible, will there be an English version?

Update: It works :D, thanx for this solution!

back to the "acting crazy" problem...

i had a bad experience last thursday playing for 500 people. i started traktor on my computer on last music of the DJ was playing before me. all cables were connected, everything tested! he was playing audio CDs and i saw that all incoming audio was making my traktor acting crazy (i use traktor on scratch mode - with timecode cds). in traktor 3 i just turn off the channels for a while so when external audio stops, i turn on. but i don't have this option in traktor pro (a simple on/off of each channel). if i want it, i have to go to input settings and disable the assignments.

    so...

when i started to play, the deck b started to read REVERSE, and traktor was not reading timecode signal properly. oh god, was terrible! i tried to turn off the input settings and start again, but channel "b" kept to read reverse. so the solution was... restart traktor.

anyone have a better solution in this case? to play after a DJ without stop music? opening traktor with audio signal entering without making traktor totally crazy? i thought on just one way: going into input settings and turn off the channels BEFORE play. so when the cdj is empty, ready to put the timecode cds, go there and turn on again...

    a little bit complicated isn't?

native, please give us better ways to do it :(

Why didn't you just turn off the timecode control from the scope panel?

This is all you had to do...

    1) Click the scratch panel
    2) Click off for each panel
    3) When you were ready to play again, click RST and calibrate.

    hey quartz,

i hate to ask newbie questions, but i can't find this "off" button. could you show me where it is? i just found "internal playback", "audio through" and "scratch control".

on the scope there's only the RST button and 2 options of timecode view.

anyway, when i turn to some of these options "audio throught", "scratch control" or "internal playback", the reaktor continue to act crazy with incoming of audio signal.

the only way i found to disable the incoming audio is on input settings. i miss this off button, cause on traktor 3 i used it.

    thank you!
