Big changes came to the areas of Hotkey and MIDI control handling in the new Pro versions. You got questions? We've probably got answers.
some guidlelines / rules for the thread as it may get big.

    • If you are new to Traktor Pro and MIDI control, before posting please at least scan the thread to see if your question is asked and answered. We reserve the right to politely berate you for not doing so first.

    • This area is for MIDI issues for Traktor Pro and Scratch Pro. We'll moderate issues asking for answers to Traktor 3 MIDI questions. We will cover matters relating to migration from T3 to Pro versions here.

    • Please do not keep bleating about making displays work on the Denons. It doesn't work today and we can seek to get it raised as an issue to be addressed in a future release we can cover discussion of that matter in other threads.

    • Do not use this thread as a 'which controller is better..' discussion. There are several other threads already in existence for that. Keep to the Traktor Pro MIDI technical path for this thread.

k, so mapping of my xp10's was fast and easy up till the point of the pitch bend, but that was solved with the "cd-dj jog" midi command.
but I have an inconsistent issue with the "scratch on" command, it seems that its letting go a bit to quick sometimes, and therefor when scratching it sometimes dont go into scratch and resumes normal playback, it can also let go in the middle of a back- or forward motion, any ideas?

scratching with xp10's worked without any issues in T3 btw

    Big problem
if i connect my 2 cdj 400 and my Evo5 at the same time, the midi section on the evo5 (ch3) does'nt run, only the cdjs works Cdj left (ch1), cdj right (ch2)
if i connect only the evo5 it work well
in the 3.41 version all work fine
    can you help me?

I'm having trouble mapping a rotary encoder to tempo bend. The manual mentions a JOG control type on page 191, but the only option that shows up is button.

I cant get CD-DJ to work for me at all. First off it puts it into scratch mode, so it just scans the track. If I then turn off scratch mode, it does a stuttery kind of "tempo bend". I tried playing with all different sensitivity settings, but nothing seems to do the trick. You're getting it to act just like pressing the tempo bend buttons?

Can I just open up the xml config file, and force tempo bend to use the jog wheel type? It certainly seems like a bug that it's not in the list. Either that or the manual is wrong.

    16.7.4 JOG Control Type
A new Control Type for controlling incremental functions such as Tempo Bend via endless
    encoders has been implemented.
Formerly mapping Pitch Bend to an endless encoder was not functional because the
endless encoder does not send a “Pitch Bend Off” message at the end. This has been
addressed with the new JOG Control Type for endless encoders. This control type sends
a “Reset” message when no new data comes in from the controller.

k, well if it is any help, i have my setup like this:

    Control:______Channel:____Type:____Assigned:
CD-DJ Jog_____Deck A_____Direct____cc96___(this is a bit irrelevant as it if what my xp10's are sending)

    Control Config
    Interaction mode: Direct
Type of controller: Jogg (3Fh;41h) <-- this is what my rotary encoders are using for sending midi, its probaly a format thingy and you should look in your midisetup what your jogs are sending

    Modifers are not used

    Rotary Encoder
    ___Rotary sensitivity : 125%
    ___Rotary acceleration: 0
    ___Invert: unticked

@ Bloodroot yes when a track is paused/cued the "CD-DJ Jog" is acting as a trackscroller, its rly gr8 imo, but when a track is playing it acts as the old "pitch bend jogg" midi command in T3, but u cant make it stop like in T3 with buttons

    midi mapping cue/hot cue

I am having trouble with midi mapping the cue points. I really want to assign trigger finger pads to different cue points so I can quickly jump from one cue to another.
This was really easy with TS. Is the feature still available?

I've been trying to map my 1D all night but I'm having trouble with one thing.

I can't figure out how to go about making seamless loops on the fly without a 'loop snap beat' function. With T3 I paired loop in & loop out with 'loop snap beat' which worked perfectly.

Now everything falls apart unless I set and end the loop at the exact precise time on the fly.

@pr0ficient: Best results with seamless loops is achieved when you turn on Quantized in the global section. Turn on Snap in Global too and if you want the transports to not snap (run in vinyl mode), then the preferences option Transport | Mouse Options needs to be set to Vinyl.

Yes, though there is a different workflow... Now you set the floating cue to the location you want , you then store the cue and finally map it to a button. You can do it all on a single Button. I'll have to lookup the exact commands because I'm just in the process of changing my original mappings to make it easier to set and I don't remember which commands I'm using.

    Ptich bend

seems as if windows user can assign the jogg function to the tempo command properly?

So is the "reset" value at the end of the Jogg command a Traktor Bug or is it controller related.

Using Xone:4D here (might be comparable to the 1D situation) on Mac 10.5.5.

I have the numark total controller reading thru the forums am I correct that the jog wheel has been disabled as everything else works but not that , is there a work around for it.

Not sure if this is right thread but how do you create a cue pont say at start and end of song so that the next deck fires off when the other deck reaches the end cue point ?

Affirmative, there are presets available in ..\factory settings\MIDI Mappings for the 1D & 2D Controllers as well as the 3D & 4D controllers.

On point 1 - I don't have the controller but I cannot imagine that the jog wheels don't work. Its simply a matter of getting the right controller assignments. We'll cover how to find out what controller types you have in the next day or so.

On point 2 - I started answering this and realized we are really off-topic, the question has been asked earlier in the day and this subject needs its own thread. Please re-post in the new thread 'Of (Hot)Cues Loops and Jumps'
