    Pioneer mixers have the 5-pin midi connection, not usb.

    Yeah i had a look at the Pioneer website to see the connections. Again i think i may have been a bit too forgiving.
    He has said that hes enabled the mixer in Midi Setup so i assumed he has the correct Midi connection.

    Yeah I'm assuming that MIDI is enabled but I want him to tell us whether he can see any midi data at all on his computer before going any further.
    The best way to see that is install MIDIOX for PC or MIDI Monitor. Before doing any of that, I wanna know what he has his DJM700 connected to, be it a soundcard or MIDISPORT UNO or whatever, it doesn't matter except to understand his connections and setup. I learned long ago not to take anything for granted and start at ground zero. Its frustrating for users but I have solved the actual problem users were experiencing here on the forums in the initial setups several times as I'm sure you guys have too.

    Hi Phil or anyone here who knows,
    I am wondering why one would want to use more than 0 or 1 for a value for modifiers? I mean I cannot find a button to use maybe more than 3 values for each state. Maybe Hold could give a value, toggle another,but how would one use more?

    Chrissound,

    Have you not found the Mk2 preset file in your PC in the following directory?
    My Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor/Settings/MIDI Mapping

    Chrisound ... I Am assuming from this you are on a PC .
    If you're on a PC you could give this a shot.

    Step.1/

    Go to control panel/select-folder options/(double click it)then select (view tab)and select "show hidden files and folders" Then click Apply then OK and Exit.

    Step2/

    Then go to my computer/C:/programdater/NativeInstruments/Traktor/facktory Settings/Midi Mapping/ and Bamm
    you should fined you herc mk2 map here.

    step3/

    Repete step1 only this time on the view tab/ select "Do not show hidden files and folders and apply then ok
    to put things back as they were before step 1

    there are a couple of scenarios where making use of more than just a simple toggle makes sense. For example say you want to remap a set of controls to several several purposes. I'm playing around with this to implement my sampler functions I'm using M7=0 thru 4 at present MIDI button group sets loop and beatjump sizes as well as set and trigger sampler. The most common use today is a straight toggle mode but as we get more familiar with it we may well discover modes of use that really need the extra values.

    Sorry, already started thread on this but thought I may get a better response here so....

    Don't know if anyone can help me here but; I've set up my Nano so that Scene 1 controls mostly fx and Scene 2 controls loops. I then duplicated Scene 1 onto Scene 3 and Scene 2 onto Scene 4. This was done in the Korg Kontrol editor.

    So assigned to the Scene lights on the Korg things look like this:

    1=Sc1
    2=Sc2
    3=Sc1
    4=Sc2

    Now in the Kontrol editor (sets the midi properties on the device) I have the buttons set to toggle and in TP set to hold, so the button lights stay on when active. Then when I go from Sc1 to Sc3 or even Sc1 right back around to Sc1 the lights go out and require pressing again to illuminate.

    Can I set it so the lights stay on in there respective Scenes?

    I'm new to MIDI so apologise If this is a stupid question.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

    Unfortunately, that was answer I was expecting! Ohhhh, that's gonna cause some problems!

    Thanks anyway mate.

    I suppose it's worth chucking a suggestion forward to Korg.

    I couldn't agree more. I'm mapping my Nanopad as a dedicated effects controller. Rather than natively, I naively thought that I could just set up one button with skeleton parameters, go into the XML and duplicate it 11 times.

    Our idea is far superior than duplicating within the tiny Midi Parameter window. However, I cannot clearly discern when the XML entry starts and stops because it is all on one line.

    Hi, I'm using HC 4500 controller by Denon TPro and I can't seem to map any scratching functions to the jogwheel. Yet pitch bend and jog are fine. Any ideas?

    Problems

    I have bought a DDM4000 and I am using Traktor Pro right now. I have a few problems with my midi mappings:

    1. Enable all knobs & buttons (especially gain knob, FX 1/2 buttons of the mixer) for midi mapping
    2. Leds are not working!
    3. Phone section is not active (I can't hear anything!)
    4. Main output is also not working

    My set up:
    The DDM4000 is connected with the computer by an usb-midi-interface and the speakers are connected to the computer.

    Is there anything missing? If someone can solve my problems, it would be great.:D

    Hey, I have the Numark Omni Control and so far after switching to Pro I've got almost everything mapped out correctly and working, with one error. When I toggle to Scratch mode, the deck stops playing. Is there a way to change this? The default Traktor LE settings seemed to work fine but I couldnt solve this problem in 3 or Pro. Thanks

    Midi Kill Hot Key

    Hey Phil,

    Another quick question. I am using a 4 deck tsi with vci-100. (From DJTT 1.6 - amazing by the way) Is there a way to set a hot key (while holding) that would turn off the midi send of the controller. There is a need to reposition Volume faders where decks share them without effecting the volume. I definitely want to use a hot key for this as the modifier set up is way to complex/intricate to mess with.

    Also - what is the workflow for merging tsi's on os x?

    thanks as always.

    There is not a way to turn off the Midi out from the controller to the PC unless there is a command on the controller itself. If what you want is to mask the midi out from Traktor to the controller then Modifiers or Bomes Midi Translator would be the only other option for blocking either midi out source.

    I'm experimenting with Bomes MIDI Translator right now to fix some of the broke dick / missing functionality in Traktors Hotkeys you can do some wild stuff if you put your mind to it. Especially evident when you see what is accomplished in Stantons Da Router app. I would bet you could do exactly what you want using BMTP without too much effort.
