No you didnt , you just called me SON. hah
Hahahaha thats brilliant , well done . Classic forum idiocy . Assuming to be more experienced than other members. Classic. If you hadnt mentioned your home life id have thought you were 15yrs old with what you wrote in answer to my reasonable post. Age and ignorance hand in hand.

Back to the real world (without any presumptuous digs).

Yes I expect you to put the time in and yes i expect you to spend hours getting your setup right so it works specifically for your requirements.
What the hell has a setting up a phone got to do with setting up DJ software that is ultimately used a million different ways and needs setting up accordingly.

Your pathetic 3 hours setting up what N.I says is PRO DJ software is simply not enough. Inbetween walking the dog and ironing the curtains or whatever domestic sh*t you do I suggest you make your setup work. YOU MAKE IT WORK.

My PRO works. The preset that i have worked pretty much out of the box. But ive changed a few things but thats cus im prepared to put the effort in, that is inbetween the 4 clubnights i do a week. This TKS im working on is in tandom with others and we are sharing the work and the benefit. THATS HOW YOU GET A GOOD TKS.

Remember at the outset NI said this program is aimed at PRO DJs if your too busy with other stuff maybe it aint for you and Virtual DJ is. Hey, just saying man you know, no need for to get bent out of shape.

Wow! Suffering with a little PMS are we Phil?

Firstly, did I ask for your arrogant reply? I think not. Could I suggest you loose the attitude, drop the pathetic insults and learn to relax a little. It might make you come across as a professional and not some arrogant, self righteous, dummy spitting child.

At no point did I demand anything, nor would I enlist your help, even if your hourly rate is so incredibly cheap. (You could come and valet my car for that sort of money though as it just cost me £120!)

As I said, the official announcement in Oct said, "comes with mappings for all relevant DJ controllers on the market."

I wrongly assumed this meant my VCI-100 would be good to go from scratch, obviously not. My mistake, and for that I'm MAN enough to apologise.

I have since found a mapping that someone had very kindly provided on here, without the attitude!

Can we have 'kiss & make up sex' now Phil or should we wait til your period is over?

    ha ha ha

Karlos, It was all said tongue in cheek mate, no offence hey!

I saw you were in the UK and thought you'd see the fun in it!

    Cheers.

then if u know how to do it, do it, it has been stated that the old tks files will not be compatible with Traktor Pro due to the redesign of the software and the bugs that might appear will take longer to sort out than makin a new mapping.

imo mac os x is a p.o.s. but we can leave the os flamewar to another thread, it is not relevant here, all that is relevant is stability and controll, that is what i have.

Just as an after thought, wouldn't it have been a good feature to have backwards compatability with the old TKS system so us 'lazy fools' didn't have to spend an age mapping?

Right I'm off to do my domestic chores now.

It's been fun chatting with you guys. I hope none of you were wedged too far up your own @sses to see that's all it was, along with a general enquiry about the software.

Peace & love to you all. At the end of the day it's all for the love of the music!

    laters guys!

Nope not PMS... Its DFN syndrome brought on by uninformed new users rehashing same the tired subject that has beens asked and answered numerous times... See Tellys discussion point, its relevant here. you could suggest Attitude adjustment, I place no gaurantee you'll get it, meet me half way we'll see where that gets us. Take a look at the recent MIDI discussions and the work that has been put in already, compare the difference in discussions.

sex? no thanks. I had some this morning It was good for me, though the smell of burning rubber was a bit strong right at the end.

Thanks for that but I cannot see this post. Any chance you can post a link to it?

Maybe but when you get an understanding of the new system maybe the light will go on that migration was really not much of an option. Probably that epiphany will hit right around the time you grok the difference in meaning between native mode and MIDI mode, I think.

Yeah I not sure how much humor we should find in the notion of you poncing around the house in 6 inch 'ho heels and a Maid costume with ya nuts tied to a turbo-charged roomba and a set of bowling ball sized Thai Balls hanging out yer arse while being flogged by yer missus with the vacuum cleaner hose... Given the choice, I would give that up and take up DJing instead.

It is indeed Bex, Enjoy yer evening...

Beat Jump / Deck Jump ?

    Phil or whomever...

Did the Beat Jump, or what was called Deck Jump in the MIDI Setup of T3, get removed in Pro? If not, where is it, and what's it called now?

After getting no love on the XONE:4D mapping issues, I've set about creating my own from scratch that matches the Allen & Heath overlays and what I'm accustomed to, but for some reason, I can't for the life of me figure out how to restore my 1/2 beat and 8 beat jump functions that I was so used to in T3.

    Thanks in advance.

Problems syncing external gear w/ Traktor Pro

So I'm having issues syncing external hardware to Traktor Scrath Pro. I followed as much as I could in the manual, and have send MIDI clock enabled and the Master Tempo set to "auto". In the MIDI preferences page, I get something weird where my MIDI out internface says "Audio 8 DJ [emulated]". I'm not sure what "emulated" is supposed to mean here?

When I play a track in Traktor, the MIDI icon in the global section isn't lighting up, and my gear isn't receiving any MIDI clock signal.

What am I missing here?

I don't use this feature much yet, but I remembered seeing someone else's post about this:

But what if we want the LED to indicate that a modifier is at a certain value?

I cant seem to get that happening. It just sticks on.

    Hi PhilL!

But that's just my problem: It _does_ work worse than in T3, with the same settings in the midi mappings section. And BTW: I've got a Pocket Dial, which can be programmed to support virtually any midi mode that can be assigned to a rotary controller (Rel. 2Compl., Signed, Inc/Dec, etc.). My rotary knob assigned to the "Key" function is in Rel. 2's Compl. mode. This worked perfectly fine in T3 to set the Key function precisely. Which mode is your controller in?

I have two buttons with lights in them. Lets call them button X & Y.

When I press button X, my deck controls are mapped to decks A & B.

When I press button Y, my deck controls are mapped to decks C & D.

I did this by using simple direct modifier controls. No problems there.

I want these buttons to light up so that I can see which decks I am currently controlling at a glance.

I added a few output variables for the LED's that go something like this:

    Modifier #1, Global, Output, (LED X=On), Mod1 = (M1=1)
    Modifier #1, Global, Output, (LED Y=Off), Mod1 = (M1=1)
    Modifier #1, Global, Output, (LED X=Off), Mod1 = (M1=0)
    Modifier #1, Global, Output, (LED Y=On), Mod1 = (M1=0)

In my mind this should work, but the LED just sticks on. Sometimes the LED on the second button will momentarily flash when I press it, but it never stays on.

    Is this a bug?

You could do all that with one button. Toggle 'control a/b' and 'control c/d'. That is how I've mapped mine. The button lights up when toggled to 'c/d' control mode.

    modifiers

phil, i've read the bit on modifiers but don't understand. can a modifier be used like a 2nd function shift button?

for example: while my vci-100 effects parameter is set to 'A' (to change settings on the fx 1 panel) could i map a modifer to a button and then activate say modifier 1 so that what would have been the fx 'on' button could now switch 'fx 1 on/off' on the internal mixer while that modifier is active? or have i got the wrong idea of modifiers?

    Missing Fx Midi Button

Hey I cant seem to find a midi command for the Advanced FX REVERB FRZ Button.

    AM I missing something here.

I would like to use the function because for some reason the Advanced FX doesnt carry over to the master volume.

In other words lets say I have the Advanced FX T3 Reverb panel engaged, and I press ON, and then turn down the Fader Volume of that Deck....for some odd reason the FX doesnt carry through the Master volume (like it did in T3).

Instead the FX is turned down at the same rate as the volume of the track?

In lue of this odd feature I would like to use a button to freeze (FRZ) the T3 Reverb, to give me the option to suddenly stop a track, yet have the REVERB FX continue through the Master volume level...

But cant find the FRZ midi command...

(edit) well I realize I could always just stop the track, with the fader still turned up on that deck, and I would essentually still have the same effect (doh)...

But still would like to utilize the FRZ button in other senario's...
