Traktor Scratch Pro with XONE:4D

    Hi,

    Apologies if this question has been asked before.

    I am about to purchase Traktor Scratch Pro in a bundle with a XONE:4D mixer/controller. I intend to work only with MP3s on my PC.

    I understand that the jog wheels on the XONE:4D can be used for manually beatmatching MP3s but will it also trigger a 'scratch' or do I need something like a CDJ Player do do this?

    yes the jog wheels will create a scratch.

    if you are going to do it the way you only need traktor pro and not scratch!

    Hi taphasms, thanks for your response.

    I am a little confused now - does that mean I only need scratch pro if I want to use 'proper' external controllers like the Pioneer/American DJ/Denon etc - and is that what the timecode CD's are for?

    exactly... scratch pro is for using timecode with external playback devices. if you don't want to run cd's or 12's, 4D+TP is all you'll need.

    that said, i wouldn't have any illusions about quality scratching on a 4D jog wheel.
