    Tidy mate, tidy :)

What's going on with the tonearm on the turntable? (I am assuming its a 1210 here...)

    Quasi Ableton/Traktor/Maschine setup.

Ive been a long time bedroom DJ/Producer and have always used the forums but was never very vocal on them. anyway this is my first post and i thought what better thread to start it in than this. Heres a list and a few pics:

15" Macbook Pro (Early 2011) 2Ghz i7, 8gb Ram, 96gb SSD and a 500gb HD where the DVD drive was thanks to an OWC Data Doubler (Probably the best "mod" ive done to my laptop.

    Korg Zero 8

    Maschine

Ipad 1 running Touchable, Rebirth, ims-20 and various other apps

    Korg KP3

    Kontrol X1

    Novation Launchpad

    Technics sl-1210 M5G

    Ultrasone DJ -1 Headphones

I also have an Evolution X-session and an E-MU X-Board 25 but since maschine arrived they have been relegated to a cupboard.

Looks as though Maschine is being used in production only, not for DJ purposes. I see a lot of peoples Maschines in low positions so its easy to bang on. Plus he can move it around with his sitting position.

Yeah the maschine's main use (for me) is in production rather than my djing and the small collapsable table is ideal for movement and height. It originally was on a snare drum stand angled so it was easier to play but that was just a little too low.

Im bored so thought i throw up some new pics of my setup so far, its coming alone nicely since the 2 stanton str8-30's and mixer with a broken xfader ;)
so i have my TT running into the xone which then feeds into deck D of the s4, this way i can still easily use all four decks and when i have an itch:D i just flick the thru switch on the back, which i find easier than using the macbooks trackpad to to click on the white box marked D and selecting external mode. plus i can use the xone's xfader which is far sharper.

Nice set-up Karlos. How long has it taken you to build it up?
Also wondered how you find using the Zero4?-its a serious contender for replacement of my DJM500.

I've been DJing all my life really. Started at Youth Club so i cant really put a time on how long its taken. Most of the stuff in the pic is from recent years and had replaced older stuff apart from the Technics.

The Korg is definitely a serious mixer. Fully Midi assignable, pretty much all the controls can be assigned to Traktor and each channel has a separate audio and midi channel. The FX are fantastic. To be really frank I have had very little use from it, in fact its been in its box for over a year as ive been using the S4 as my mixer. I only took it out this week to take the pics.

Im actually on the cusp of selling it. Might go in the Buy & Sell thread this week. I simply don't use it so it should go to a more worthy home.

Yeah FireWire only which is great for Mac users with 13" & 15" that only have 2 USB ports.

Not so good for you though i guess:(
