Update

I've changed quite a bit of stuff so I thought I'd post an update.

Lost the laptop so I've consolidated my PC with my DJing/Production equipment and now I have a Gaming/Audio Production/Djing station

Ikea table, Ikea Shelf with the arms, Ikea lights underneath the shelf for cool lighting. Height is terrible for DJing but it's ok if you sit. Equipment can slide back underneath the shelf to make room for doing homework and what not on the desk. Works for now.

Got an X1, added some white control vinyl and butta rugs, Krk Rokit G2 5" and Krk 10s, and I just picked up an Akai MPK Mini.

I forget the name but if you look on the left side of the turntable you can see the reflection in the cover. There are 4 flat, circular LED lights that have long cables and connect to a sort of hub that goes to a control button that lets you pick a single solid color, cycle through colors, or fade between colors. Really easy to install. I used the mounting pads and stapled the cords to the back of the shelf to sort of hide them.

Nice setup, how do you like the Krk sub. I've got 6's but need a more full sound and think this may do it rather than going to 8's.

 

One word, BEAST! This thing is ridiculous. It will rattle pictures off the wall in my apt. I'm thinking I need 6's or 8's to really be able to crank it up, and the bass is so smooth!

I listened to all of the studio monitors I could at Guitar Center playing dubstep/dnb through my iphone. Honestly, the M Audio BX8A had the best bass response of all the monitors, even over the Krk 8's, and I was ready to buy them.. but they had a production setup with Krk 5's and the Krk 10s. I couldn't play music through my iphone but what I could play.. the sound was really leagues above everything else. So I decided to wait and save up for that setup and I couldn't be happier with it.

Finished This Just before Christmas, Made it out of scrap MDF and wrapped it in faux leather Held Up By scaffold poles (discreetly) so its solid. all in cost less than £20 lol
