I know, I know. Old topic. But Sweet Jesus, can we please consider this? I think Spotify has their licensing issue fixed. Now we just need NI's support to make this happen. I would even buy Traktor software again or upgrade package if it could support any online streaming service. Spotify is clearly the best but any streaming integration would be awesome. Thoughts? Feedback?

My guess is this will never happen with NI or if it does it will be a while. if you want to this right away my recommendations is look else where. I love spotify and i kinda think the future of DJing could be tablet based with controller with streaming. NI seem to thinks the future of DJing is stems.

I have Traktor Z2 + Denon DJ VL12 prime turntables in one setup, then Traktor S2 + F1 in another setup. I'm a NI - Traktor guy. The funny thing is, and to your point Troy, is that I'm currently looking into a tablet running dJay and another non-NI controller in order to leverage Spotify streaming service. I just have situations where I need additional music on the fly and want streaming service. I mean, I get the whole STEMS thing and it's pretty cool, but I wouldn't say that's the future of DJ'ing. The #1 rule of DJ'ing for people is playing what they want to hear, mixing it well, making it fun and memorable. That's where Spotify comes in. Not every DJ is going to have a music collection like that. That's sad NI isn't looking into this, because THAT IS the future of DJ'ing.

Playing tracks that are making them dance is the most important thing, if the crowd is also liking these tracks, this is a bonus, if you make them discover new great tracks they also like, that is another bonus ;)

Spotify feature would simply kill all other DJ software, seeing how bad Djay pro is, it still remain used a lot due to the Spotify integration, this feature with Traktor will simply kill any other DJ software, it is as easy as that....

So you think the success of DJay pro is due to their poor software full of bugs ?

Clearly, new customers will clearly start to be using Traktor, specially the one that first start to download a cr***cked version of Traktor and who will very likely move to the paid version...

Good, you also clearly agree now ;)

I don't see why you are against it ? If you don't use that functionality, why do you care ?

Go to the Djay Pro forums, see the amount of issues they do have, on Windows just a nightmare, on Mac still lot of issues, and they are still people comming to move to that plarform from Serato or Traktor, i don't believe it is due to the bad software they have.

Djing new tracks is also the perfect way to discover them and buy them, perfect way to trying new sets and new tracks before buying these tracks...

I'm neither for or against it, but the suggestion that Spotify integration in Traktor would kill Serato, let alone Rekordbox is absolute nonsense. NI have lost that battle already, and given Pioneer are pretty much the industry standard for DJ gear, nothing is going to change that.

Customers buy Djay Pro because it's cheap, and it goes hand in hand with having Spotify, because it's a lot cheaper than owning a proper music collection. The same customers will have no interest in dropping a significant investment in NI gear to get the same functionality.

That is not really true, i know still lot of people using Traktor with no NI gear, all Denon products have aTSI for each controller on their site.

Most Numark have also mappings, so that is not really an issue.

Very much in the minority. What's not true in the least, is the nonsense you're spouting about Spotify integration. It's complete fantasy.

It should not, VDJ has integrated it and DJay still has it. Pulselocker was setup in many DJ software, this kind of service remain the future and being integrated in the DJ software is really an added value. I know at least two DJ's who has DJay pro as main and traktor/serato as backup...

I wouden't be surprised to see this more in the future.

For some reason whenever i see your thoughts, it is all sad.
You just say it negative without proof, and flip the result in a sudden anytime you want like whoever bring that your favorite Spotify system wins the battle.
Yeah, that's true people buy Djay pro at Costco.
Because they don't have know, there are latencies every time they press cues.
They might don't know how to do a proper mix,
They might think that Top 30 list will rock the picnic.
They don't think about the mix-in and mix-out. And they probably don't prepare songs prior gigs and play like Traktor Auto Pilot.
I understand. They don't listen to the original tracks and know how does the intro waveform look like.

Don't speak about something you haven't used, there are no dam latencies with DJay pro and spotify, the song is first loaded locally and the response time is fine, Djay pro is just a very buggy software but that is another story ;)

The two DJ's i know using the Ipad version or Mac of Djay pro does perfectly know how to build a proper mix and how to animate a crowd, you seems to know everything about is without really knowing us. They where using previously Traktor...

So at first view, you seems to have it completely wrong, maybe like the fact Spotify is an added value for Traktor.

my friend is a great dj, when he gets the odd request that he either doesnt know or hasnt yet come across and the annoying customer just will not leave or accept no for an answere....................

my friend goes to the internet, on his laptop, using the club wifi, and grabs said track, all dj format versions and remixes, and plays the best one.

he did not use spotify to do this

spotify is not the future of DJing.

Let's imagine you can just perform the search on Traktor and play it, so easier.

When you are playing short versions and don't have lot of time, I've tried similar solutions with another laptop who has internet and which can copy the file to the computer who is playing and at the end, you don't have time to perform such operation, everything integrated is an added value.
