    Hi Music Lovers,

There is a thread called Traktor + Spotify for so long and we got nothing in return so far.
I can accept the fact that Spotify no longer provides service to DJ software, for some reason.

BUT there are Tidal (and possibly Soundcloud GO) streaming services that collaborates with DJ industry and DJing software, where it is possible to reach your playlists and dj.

TIDAL works with Algoriddim's Djay app and also with Serato's DJ Pro app. Just to try it, I subscribed to Tidal, imported all my music from Spotify to Tidal and tried both DJ software (demo versions) with Tidal and it was flawless. Waaaay convenient. I really think selling my Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 and shifting to a more streaming friendly setup.

    This is my last call to NI please;

We are living in an era that rockets sent to space are coming back and landing itself. BUT I cannot use my paid streaming services i.e. Tidal, Spotify, where I keep all my music library as millions do, with my djing gears. I really don't understand how long we should wait more for NI to adapt this change and make us all happy.

I think, you even do not have to sell S2. It might work in Serato, if you are happy with that.

this is the reason i tryed other dj software after 12 years, i tryed all the popular hardware and streams. i settled for tidal/rekordbox/ddj800/RZ

i never got to take tidal out because the pandemic hit, but as i am prepping now for may the 21st big opening tidal is just amazing, its come so far in a year and works as well as spotify. I got it for the rnb chart and hip but as im discovering all my old favorite DnB/Breaks and psy trance are now on there, it really is expanding at such a rate.

also tidal is the only service with normal/high bit rate/ hifi lossless/ master authenticated files for the ultimate quality, im all in at this point and traktor needs tidal!! how hard can it be?

Mate, I checked Serato and it didn't work. I believe none of the Traktor controllers are certified for Serato. Serato software did not detect the S2, even for manual mapping.

Tidal + rekordbox + ddj800 seems to be a great solution mate, congrats.

Yes, Tidal improved much in the past year. It almost find every choon in my Spotify playlist, with only few misses in a 400, 500 track long playlists.

I am really examining my options now. Why did you prefer Rekordbox over Serato Pro?
After so many years with Traktor, just like you, user interface in both seemed to me a bit dull, so I couldn't decide on the software and the hardware side.

Although I own most of my music outright (Promo Only subscriber since 1994 + a few dozen other services and CD purchases over the years for back catalog) there's ALWAYS a request that makes sense that I simply don't own or have on me at an event. Spotify+Djay was always my backup, but once Rekordbox offered the best integration of TIDAL into their software (the Serato version sucks) then I became part of the TIDAL+RBDJ+DDJ800 crowd. It's a great combination, except that overall I have always liked the Traktor interface better, and Traktor is better "on-the-fly" for analysis of new tracks, etc.

SIDENOTE: I don't use parallel waveforms and have nothing but issues when I do. It's one reason that I've been using downtime in the pandemic to move my collection back to Traktor Pro and using my S4MK3. But not having an open format streaming service integrated kinda sucks.

Yes mate TIDAL + RBDJ + DDJ800 seems to be the best trio nowadays. But I have good news for you if you would like to keep up with your S4.

Having reviewed all options possible in streaming and djing software world; also having read few articles, I found a solution and its name is VIRTUAL DJ.

Virtual DJ is a versatile software that does everything a software can possibly do. Most important part is that it natively supports many Traktor hardware (including mine S2 MK2). Just plug and play.

Another advantage which is as important as the above, it supports many streaming services such as Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, Beatport and Beatsource.

For the last couple of days I'm enjoying my full playlists spinning with my gear. I'm soo happy that I can finally found a solution that serves my long awaited needs.

Virtual DJ Pro is free for 30 days. If you would like to connect 1 controller it is USD 99 for life. After I complete my trial period I will definitely buy it. The interface is cool and there are sooo many details, options etc. Give it a try and you wont regret.

VIRTUAL DJ + TIDAL + TRAKTOR CONTROLLER (not all though check supported Traktor devices) is the answer to this topic guys. And importing your Spotify music to Tidal is super fast, free and flawless with https://www.tunemymusic.com I cant believe I imported 5000+ choon in few minutes.

I've used VDJ off and on over the years and never liked it, though its performance on PC was better than Traktor Pro or Rekordbox DJ (so that was a plus....if using PC instead of Mac, which I don't). In fact, the PC performance is one of the reasons many in my market do use it.

However, the S4MK3 is *NOT* supported by Virtual DJ (nor is the S5, the other controller I still own from NI). That kind of makes it a non-starter for me. That and the fact that, as I mentioned, the Traktor interface is what I love most about the TP3 software. I can't get that kind of deck layout in any other software.

What is it you find boring about frustrated owners asking for new features to bring the software into the 21st century?

I tryed serato briefly, it was immidiatley obvious that going from the traktor GUI to the serato GUI was an instant no no. the full track wave form is unusable as it is only a few millimeters thick and very small, Traktors is big and beatifull and something i still miss in RBDJ.

at the time of testing serato cant analyse tunes when performing, it also couldnt analyse some pretty basic garage/breaks music that the RBDJ traktor and the denon sc5000 could.

Rekordbox seemed to do every thing better than serato and look way better doing it, when i found that you could display your track browser on a second monitor the deal was sealed not to mention tidal, track recomendations, flash drives, and perhaps the biggest thing for me was being able to move my playlists up and down the libabry at will. oh and the other massive thing the hardware, i longed for a 2 channel controller like the ddj1000/rz and the 800 is the closest 99% perfect thing i could have hoped for.

if traktor gave me tidal and use of my ddj800 i would return, but right now i have forced myself and i do mean forced to move on. now the penny has dropped and im all in, should of left years ago N.I doesnt give 2 shiny $$hits.

What does streaming services have to do with the 21st century in a DJs life?
Streaming services are for the lazy ones who don’t want to do their business outside the clubs or wherever they play.
Buy your music, know the music you bought and do your damn job.
If your feelings got hurt then this applies to you!!!

Yes mate you are correct. Its weird S4 mk2 is supported but mk3 not. And yes I'm talking about PC version.

This is my first time with Virtual DJ and I find it handy, even beyond standards by native Stems integration and hundreds of deck/mixer settings/configuration.

Anyhow your current setup looks great. Lets hope Traktor 4, which may be released sometime this year, provides full streaming services support, so that we can truly enjoy Traktor hardware without looking for a third-party software.

Mate, not everybody is a professional dj.
For instance I am a bedroom dj, mostly playing for my family & friends.. only in summers I play for a decent crowd in few occasions.

Therefore I cant effort buying tens of, hundreds of choons in a week cause I am not making money out of djing.

On a separate note, accept it or not, maintaining your library/playlists on a streaming service would become a norm in the coming years for all types of djs from headliners to newbies. This is the most convenient, safest, quickest and logical way of maintaining your library.

So think twice before labeling people lazy.

Well, it is not by far the most convenient, safest and logical.... ......For all. Maybe for you. From what I know, most pros use way different ways of organization and use different logic to what allows streaming service....

But you are right. Streaming service may be handy for home use. And in case of pro - for weddings, birthdays, company events, and so..... But it may be solved by routing streaming service to Traktor's input.... For few songs an evening it will do. ;-)
