Traktor + Tidal

i did the ipad/streaming into a spare channel on traktor for a while but it feels very "tacked" on and just isnt a good experience at all. Traktor is the only one without tidal so get on it with it N.I.

 

DJ's for events, weddings, etc simply don't have access to every track a client might request on the day. Having access to everything on a streaming service ensures that event DJ's are more likely to be able to fulfil their customer's requests, keep clients happy and build their business.

There are plenty of people working with DJ and music software that would benefit from access to streaming services. The whole notion of "if you don't know each track beat for beat inside out you're not a real DJ" isn't representative of the wider DJ community.

That said, Traktor wouldn't be brought into the 21st century simply by adding streaming services. It has plenty of far more basic issues that need to be addressed to even bring it up to par with other software.

 

That is the issue indeed. Even if we had streaming tomorrow, many basics are missing
(Elastic beatgrid, third party controllers)

smart playlists and parallel view are successfully basics now checked

 

Having tidal streaming will be a great feature!

 

Just here to say traktor dj pro would be an instant buy if it supported tidal.

Anyone heared about tidal support coming anytime soon?

 

I'm using Tidal with both DJay and Serato. Haven't got the BeatPort subscription, even if there's a trial ... I think it's way too expensive and unjustified for me. I paly on Ecstatic Dance nights once-twice a month and on few festivals in the summer and I barely get income from it.

And now that Tidal's HiFi/FLAC is part of the low-end Premium, it's even more attractive, IMO.

To be honest, I'd love to see Traktor modernized and catching up with Djay. With the Streaming and Neural Mix features, I would just not choose Traktor these days. Nor do I recommend it to friends anymore ... pitty.
