Anonymous users can read everything, so no registration is needed for reading. But there are more advantages to registering - for example, you can add a page watch to get a mail if sth is added to a certain page.

But more importantly - don't you feel the urge to let the world partake of your acquired Traktor wisdom ?? =)

    Cheers, h00la

Well I can't share what I do not yet possess, hopefully by reading this board and learning from you all I can one day help others.

If I even had the nerve to call my self a "Dj" I would have to take the moniker "Dj Train Wreck" because at this stage that is what I sound like.

Looking forward to learning with the help of everyone's knowledge.

*makes note* that is actually a GREAT DJ name! In the style of DJ Rubbish (whose work I much admire) - mind if I nick it?

Oh and what I really popped in here to say was - I'm impressed with all the work that's gone in to getting the Wiki together.
    I'm registering now.
    Thanks guys.

Too late mate, its been my alter ego for a while now ;) but feel free to use it too anyway, or how about DJ SNEAKERS (in a a dryer)?

Or we could just start a crew called "The Train Wreck Project" devoted to all forms of the DJ Disaster Artform and possibly even some bangin' good dance music.
We could even have small crews in the project....
    Turntablism = The Wrecking Crew
Mobile DJ's = The Wrecking Ball
After Party DJ's = The Demolition Squad

All DJ's when up to play would be referred to as "Wreck on Deck"

    Phil ;)

Howz about right now???... I'm testing scratch this-arvo, that should be good for wrecks aplenty.

BTW: to H00laH00la and DJDrixx. Huge props to you both for your efforts in getting the Wiki running and adding your content. Excellent Work! Many thanks too to everyone who has shown support by joining up on the Wiki. Your support means a lot and shows there is a real interest.

Hopefully I should be freed up enough in a couple of weeks to start contributing stuff, as I have time.

Did you know there was a Wikipedia entry for Traktor too and it is slated for deletion if it cannot be updated/maintained.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traktor_DJ_Studio

Manni, from the beta test group, has asked for help in doing some update workSome peeps care to throw a few well crafted lines up there and perhaps a link or 2, perhaps to our own Wiki?

i'm excited about the wiki as well and forwarded the link to NI and also am already discussing, which contents from the manual i can take into the wiki without violating the copyright stuff.

right now i'm writing on the traktor scratch manual and am obviously beta-testing, therefore i have much work to do, but once traktor scratch is out of the door i will help building this thing with some texts as well.

until then feel my virtual support! :)

That's cool! Particularly if you can clear some manual stuff, this can point people to the important pieces of advice that are easily overlooked (or not looked at at all =).

Virtual thanks! Real as well =)

Congratulations on the work to date on the wiki, could i make a suggestion ? Is it possible to put a new posts flag to save us re-reading threads.

Thanks! There's a "Last Changes" entry in the sidebar manu - isn't that what you're looking for? You may have to check for changes older than the default one day...

Would it be appropriate to have a section in the Wiki devoted to the art of DJing, with Traktor and not just it's features and how they work? I.e. suggestions of good techniques to use for mixing relevant to Traktor, ideas for someone new to Traktor (and perhaps DJing) on how best to approach playlist creation etc.

Of course this would be rather subjective and the content in this section would be the opinions of those who posted it rather than plain facts.

Yes, of course it's appropriate! Just think about the stuff you want to add yourself; some of it may fit under the categories under "General info" / "Performance tips and tricks"; but if you think there's sth that needs a new category, just add it.

Go ahead, post first, re-arrange later. I think as admin I'll only move things around a bit if I feel it's getting chaotic or redundant. I'll definitely not say no to a new topic as long as it's on some (however remote) way connected to Traktor... And actually - every Forum or Wiki can live with an Offtopic category...

    Cheers, h00la

Cool, I just wanted to check here beforehand.
I have actually been working on a couple of points. Once I've added the content, perhaps someone who generally agrees with it would like to fill in any gaps.

Is there already a place to discuss it's content on the Wiki itself?
    Cheers,
    G

I just added the comments feature. Just use the "add comment" button at the bottom of each page. Let's see how that works out. I'm really reluctant to install full forum functionality; after all, I heard there already is a forum for Traktor somewhere =)

    keep it up, Cheers, h00la
