Wiki update!

Added: Software tools section. For now, there's a selection of mp3 specific tools with links, screenshots, descriptions, etc.

I think this may be a very helpful section. I keep stumbling into new tools all over ther forum, but it's mostly by chance. Please go ahead and add your favourite tools there.

Just copy the page of another tool to the clipboard, add a new link to the tools page, go there, and paste. Now just replace the parts with info about your tool and presto. Took me like 5 minutes for one pogram, so no big deal.

Dumped: I now cut the Traktor v2 section and replaced it by a "previous versions" one. Pretty obvious that 99% of the people that still run a version 2.x or earlier do so because they know it well. I know because I still often use it for precisely that reason. That of course means that the need for new info is pretty low. If someone wants to share their v2.x knowledge with the world, just add to that new section.

Nice Work Guys Its really taking shape and is getting a pretty decent number of hits. I'll take it offline this weekend for a hour to do a full backup of the Wiki. @Hoola do you want a copy of the data for safe keeping? (Read: Hoola you should have a copy of this for safe keeping )

Yes, I just did a backup today via the Wiki-internal "export" function. If that works as I think it does, I believe I've done my safe-keeping homework =)

Just as an FYI the Wiki may be briefly unavailable later this week as I back up the data files. Also potentially next Saturday AM I plan to upgrade the Wiki software to the latest version so it may be unavailable for a hour or so then too.

I'll keep you posted.

PhilL, do you think it would make sense to either add a link to the wiki as a first post of this thread? Or what would be even better directly link to the Wiki from somewhere more visible in the forum? I sort of wonder how many users actually know about it...?

Well its taken a few days and I finally got the install to work. I'm testing the Wiki now and if there are problems I will copy the old data back in place of the upgraded version. If you are having problems please let me know by Email ASAP jplewis01 AT comcast DOT net.

Yeah I got a message, [looks like Friday] the domain was suspended for violation of terms of service. Dunno why, most likely an account payment problem, I'm working on it. The domain should be back up later today or tomorrow morning, when things are sorted out. I'll post back when its fixed.
