Aloha all. Im having issues with my Z2, before the last update I would get random blue screens, now that has stopped but when I'm playing the music it randomly freezes an sometimes the whole computer will freeze/crash.

I've updated everything on the computer, I've done the walk threw tutorial and it shouldn't have any issues. It seems to be an issue with data streaming from the USB.

    I'm running TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2 MK2 with a TRAKTOR KONTROL Z2 connected to 2 CDJ-350's
    Version 2.6.7 (R337)
Z2 on the latest firmware as well.

My computer is an Asus G75VW
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
    Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
    8192 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2048 MB RAM
    1TB 5400RPM 8MB BUFFER SATA-II (3.0 Gb/s)
4 USB ports 2 are 2.0 and 2 are 3.0 (all drivers up to date)

Anybody have any idea what it could be? I'm about to go buy a new USB 3.0 cable to see if that works but the Z2 is only USB 2.0 so it will downgrade it anyway won't it? I used to run my Audio 8 with an X1 on my old vinyl setup with a dual core 4 gb toshiba and never had any issues with it. Any ideas what to do? I've messed around with the Z2 control panel and was wandering what would be a good process buffer and USB buffer? I've moved them around an it makes little to no difference.

I tried swapping USB cables like one of the NI tutorials tells you an nothing changed. I'm getting massive spikes at random moments when my processor and ram show nothing out of the ordinary

Sucks when nobody replies… I have the Z2 with 2 technics running timecode, but I can't help much because i'm on a Mac.
Certainly doesn't seem like you should have any issues processor wise or anything, the specs are all there… Have you looked into posts about optimizing Windows for Traktor SP2?? Those might help.

Are you running music off your hard drive, or an external??

Running music off the hard drive. I've tried all the support pages an such. Every update an driver but nothing's helped so far. I submitted my claim to NI tech support an no answer yet. Ill keep trying. I'm sure it's a problem with the USB syncing. I might try a full re install of traktor next. All drivers are up to date tried 4 USB cables. Something's gotta work

What do the blue screen errors say?? Also do you have enable multi-core processing checked?? If so, i would recommend unchecking it. Did the NVIDIA video card come installed, or was it an upgrade? I've had a blue screen at work a few times w/ the nvidia card installed upgraded on a Dell.

It has a dedicated Nvidia GTX 660M but the blue screen issue was resolved with driver updates. Now I just get freezes an glitch's, an latency spikes. I have multi core off. The sample rates in my ASIO settings can't be changed though

I havn't tried disabling my native sound card but when my Z2 is plugged in it automatically makes it the default an I never had issues with the latency connection tell recently

Yea that sounds right to me… My Z2 does the same thing when plugged in. That's odd that the issue just started happening… Was it after a certain Traktor Scratch P2 update?? Obvious question but your Traktor software is up to date right?

What's your latency settings at? I don't know too much about the ASIO driver aside from that it's necessary for Windows. I've never even touched my sample rate settings, don't know what would be best there. Attached a photo of my settings screen with the Latency and Sample Rate Info. Not sure it will help at all, maybe..

@fyndelkind Could be some type of driver corruption after a TSP update. Maybe try re-installing the driver. Although he/you probably already tried that. Not sure if he ever got it fixed or not. Good luck

I'm shocked that the issues haven't been resolved. I've played on the DJM 2000, Allen&Heath's, Numarks, an to many others to name and the Z2 blew them all out of the water... when it felt like running only the Xone 22 is close. I am not dogging on Native Instruments in any way it must be hard to make drivers to make your products run on an almost infinite amount of computers around the world all with different attributes. I sold my Z2 a while back when I was excepted back into University to pay for books an that solved my problem with it lol. I still have an X1 and an Audio 8 that a friends borrowing. I am contemplating purchasing an S4 though... opinion on the S4 a a temp replacement?
