Hi, i have Traktor on my PC and have just bought a Mac laptop.

I beleive you can move the collection file and tsi file between differn't PC's with Traktor installed to retain all your grid settings etc?

Is that right? If yes can you move the same files from a PC with traktor installed to a Mac with tracktor installed and retain all you track grid setting and preferences for your controller?

    drag and drop pretty much
check where the install paths are on mac vs pc

the default path on a mac is ~/Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor (~ being your home[username] directory)

    Thanks for that,

So basically you can use the collection file and TSI file from a Pc on a mac with traktor installed and it will work?

i'm pretty sure with the tsi it's exactly that easy, but you have to change the file paths of the collection file after the import. but - i'm not on mac, contact phil, he knows better about switching from one platform to the other.

I cannot get it right. When I copy all my folders from PC to Mac I do get the collection from the PC on the Mac. Then after I import the music folders to the collection (to import a new track), I have all tracks duplicated in the collection/browser with different paths (file location). The displayed location of half of them does not exist.

If I import an exported collection from the PC, I get the same thing. I really would like to have all the playlists on the Mac, but it looks like I have to create them manually.

I haven't had chance to do it on the Mac yet but I wheni have done it rom PC to PC before,

I copy my music file across , tell Traktor where the music folder are.

In regards to the collection file I over write the collection file in the traktor folder which is usually in

    C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\native instruments\traktor

I basically want to do the same on the mac

ok, once you've got your collection file from windows over to Mac OS - DO NOT import your music library - that will double things up

what you need to do is run traktor's "consistency check" and re-find lost tunes

I did try multiple scenario's, imports, copies, consistency checks, but when I imported a folder again to find new (added after PC > Mac) I got duplicates,

hmmm delete the collection file as it exists on the mac to start afresh - check this by opening traktor. If it's empty, do nothing, just close traktor again (you will need to turn Monitoring Music Folders OFF in the preferences)

then copy over your old collection file, and run the consistency check
