    Hey dbw1,
If you update to Komplete Kontrol 2.6.0 do you still get this transport issue ?

For me they do light up and the work around with the NTKDaemon Force Quit also works. I'm on a Mac Pro (2019) 3,3GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon W. running Catalina 10.15.7

I only started having this problem after shutting down and disconnecting everything on my mac to install a new desk in my studio. After hooking everything back up the same way it was before I noticed the transport issues.

    Hey Suresh,
It seems that the transport issue is still not corrected for everyone. For some users that last update fixes it, for some it doesn't. It seems the issue is even more complex and we may face multiple bugs with the same symptoms. We're really sorry for those that are still affected. Please know we're still working on it.

    Hey David,
I'm sorry to hear you are having a bad experience with our keyboard. We know this issue has been here for a while, we did several updates trying to address the issue, successfully for some users and unsuccessfully for others, as you can see in this thread I understand that transport is important for you and I understand you wish to return the unit. If you want to give it one last chance, maybe we can try a few things before you return it ? If you do please send me a direct message.

Hey Rattle Unit, that's really interesting, thanks a lot for that information, forwarding it to the team.

Just confirming things are still broken over here after this last update. The browsing function though always seems to work though as well as editing instruments. Sounds.com never seems to sync, which is a separate issue so am still working on that. I've only had my keyboard for 3 weeks but over all really like it and am going to keep it regardless of the transport issue.

Weirdly enough, when I booted up today, all the buttons, knobs, and transport controls worked just fine! Oh man...this thing is toying with me. I changed nothing from yesterday when it wasn't working.

After installing the 2.6.0 update yesterday, everything was working all day - no transport issues even after quitting and opening Logic 10-12 times. This morning after running Logic and quitting it the transport bug returned the next time I opened Logic. Force quitting the NTKDaemon process still works as the fix.

    Komplete Kontrol 2.6.0
    Logic 10.6.1
    Mac Pro Late 2013
    Catalina 10.15.7

Well, mine started working again after trying things recommended by NI tech support.

Then it stopped working after a few hours! LoL.

But now it is working consistently when I do the following:
    1. I removed a Roland Juno 60 plugin from Roland that occasionally gave an error message in Logic. It was the only plugin giving an error message and it was a trial, so now it's gone. No idea if it's related to the Transport/Logic issue. But error messages are never good, so bye-bye.
    2. I start the NI Kontrol standalone Software.
    3. Then I power on the S61 keyboard.
    4. I start Logic.

This sequenced has resulted in a 100% fix for the Control, etc., issues with the S61 over the last 24 hours for me.

Then I'll quit Logic, work on the computer with other stuff, open Chrome with a million tabs, etc., Then I do the above sequence and S61 works perfectly. I have no idea if it's luck or actually fixes the issue. (The NTKDaemon force quit didn't work for me before, so I'm not using that.)

Anyway, I'm happy to use this sequence to start it as the S61 is pretty darned nifty to use when it works 100%!!! Definitely speeds up production of recordings, and is also fun to discover sounds which then inspire songs.

I spent thou$ands on buying the Ultimate Komplete Edition -- or as I call it: the "I Don't Have a Girlfriend To Spend Money on Edition" -- so this really is the perfect keyboard for me. And tech support is responsive within the ticket system, and here on this forum, and that's fine. Communication within 24 hours, and that works. In video production, we're used to faster, but a keyboard isn't critical and this can be worked around and doesn't grind things to a halt.

I've tried everything listed here with no success. I'd like to be added to the beta group. Transport works after reboot and eventually stops again
    System Info:
    Mac Pro (2019)
    macOS Catalina 10.15.7
    Logic Pro X 10.6.1
    Komplete Kontrol 2.6.0

Randy06 reboot clearing the issue is what I first noticed, but there's probably a few other things going on. Support recommends starting NTKDaemon process, but even that may be overkill. I Have pretty similar setup to you. Just noticed this sequence tonight:

    - KK S49 transport is responding and starting Logic playback
    - Load a new blank standalone Maschine song.
    - Transport now not responsive - its linked to Maschine2 which I have in slave mode
    - Click track in Logic with KK loaded
    - Transport now responsive again

This feels like some sort of focus issue for the controller. If loading new KK tracks don't bring the transport back, I think starting the NTKDaemon is better than reboot.

update - just realizing this might be functioning as expected where the controller instance links to Maschine and not anything else, when loaded? Thats odd for a midi controller though. The transport should be broadcast to any device selected in KK settings I thought

My controller won't show the track in Logic that is selected either. Sounds like this happens in windows/cubase too - would be great getting that working

Hello. Is there any update on this? I have been having the same problem that everybody in this thread has. I've been having it for two months now.

    Hey solrak,
Unfortunately the issue is still there, the 2.6.0 improved the situation for some users but didn't fix it for the majority of users, so the devs are still working on it. Sorry for the inconvenience, again.

It's okay. I'll just wait for the update that will hopefully fix the issue. More power to you guys. Best of luck in finding a solution.

    Hi there,

I filed a support request* after trying all the troubleshooting in this and other threads, but no dice. Specifically, my S88 works great with KK standalone, but it turns into a generic MIDI controller whenever I use it with GarageBand or Logic :\.

Is this still a known bug or am I just really unlucky?

*oddly I didn't get any email confirmation of my ticket-filing.

UPDATE: Just installed Presonus Studio One. No prob there; keyboard works as expected (except for the knobs with non-NKS instruments, but that's been a bug forever with Presonus + KK sadly <sigh>).

    Hi all,

Just purchased a new Mac mini M1 and the NI S49 MK2 Keyboard.

First needed to find out, that they Keyboard is detected by Logic only if run under Rosetta (absolutely don't understand why this is not being communicated by NI and need to be found out in the forum).

Keyboard is now detected on Logic, but transport controls stop working after a restart of Logic.
It can only be fixed by a complete restart of the computer.

The transport controls were one of the main features for me to buy this keyboard and they are not working.

Having found this thread now I feel betrayed by NI since they advertise the S49Mk2 would support Logic Integration, which it does not.
Though this problem is obviously known for a FULL YEAR now, they still advertise they keyboard as compatible with Logic, though they perfectly know that it is not true.

I will try to return the Keyboard trying to get a refund, and also investigate on legal options to stop NI to advertise with the Logic compatibility since this is an obvious deception of customers.

I understand there might be a team trying to fix the issue, but since they could not solve it within a full year, how can I be optimistic that they can fix it in the near future, or even at all?

Very disappointing experience with NI, that is being completed with not having any phone contact / customer service available for such high price product.

    Hello Jan,
We are really sorry you are experiencing this issue with the keyboard. It is indeed here for a while, several updates tried to fix it, successfully for some users and unsuccessfully for others. Please keep in mind that not all users experience this. For the vast majority, it works, we're not denying it still affects a lot of users, and we're still investigating the issue. It seems a very system related issue, so it makes it harder to reproduce on our side. I understand that it doesn't bring you the host integration, but we are not trying to deceive anyone.

If you wish to escalate that matter, please get in touch and submit a request through this typeform : http://bit.ly/NIsupport_KKontrol

Now, about the Apple Sillicon / M1 compatibility, there is an article about it linked on our main support page and also on the welcome page of this forum : https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us

Please also note that, even if we are not available by phone, you can submit a request through our typeforms and our agents will reply as soon as possible. At the present time, an answer can be expected within one working day.
