Bug Transport buttons issue with Logic Pro X (KBDSW-6814)

Hey everyone,
We just released a new version of Komplete Kontrol (2.6.5) addressing some control issues with Logic. The update is available now in Native Access.
Hopefully the update should fix what's being discussed here.

Also, I have noticed that mine has been quite stable since Apple released that little peripherals update the other day too.

 

There was a lot of work done with Apple on this issue and hopefully adding the KK update now makes things a lot smoother for everyone.

I am on macOS version 11.6 (2019 Mac Pro) and just updated to the latest version of Komplete Kontrol (2.6.5) ands Maschine (2.14.5) and can confirm that this issue is NOT resolved for me yet. If I close logic and reopen the problem still persists. I have to restart computer for it to work.

 

Works for me! All up to date 2020 i7 iMac.

Fix seems to be working on my M32 and Maschine combo. Holding my breath for long term stability but so far so good. Jeez I might even buy another NI S49 now the product looks like it actually works as advertised !

 

The update worked for me this morning. I restarted Logic about 10 times and the transport controls worked for each session. Thanks to NI for getting this done! Mac OS 11.6 and Logic 10.7.0

 

Logic Pro 10.7 on Mac OS 11.6: I deleted all controller assignments and Komplete Kontrol from the controller setup, restarted Logic Pro, added the KK S61 manually and transport buttons started working.

 

It has absolutely fixed the issue with my Kontrol S61. Thanks a lot!!!!

 

I updated to the latest Logic Pro version, and all of a sudden find the transport button issue is happening. Searching the forum, I came across this issue, and thought of sharing my updates as well. Below is my configuration.

• Komplete kontrol 2.6.5 (r212)
• OS : macOS Big Sur 11.6
• MacBook Air Apple M1, 16gb
• Keyboard : Komplete Kontrol s88 MK2
• Logic Pro 10.7.0
• Komplete 13 Ultimate edition

Actually I am experiencing 2 issues ->
Issue 1 : None of the transport controls are working, as well as the jog wheel.
Issue 2 : If I assign a Komplete Kontrol instrument to a Logic track, and assign another instrument to a second track, and try to navigate from one to the other, the keyboard screens are not refreshing with the selected instrument. Appears like it completely loses sync with the Komplete Kontrol software. Also, the buttons are not working properly anymore.

Also I find initially, sometimes by switching the keyboard on/off it was syncing back, but again losing sync on introduction of new tracks. Now, i am finding by clicking on the "keyboard icon" in the Komplete Kontrol software, it is getting synced back temporarily.

In order to troubleshoot I removed the other control surface that I was having (i.e. Korg Nanokontrol2, being setup as a Mackie Control).
Surprisingly, I find that "Komplete Kontrol S-Series" also was not being shown under "Devices" in "Control Surface Setup" box. (Although this is mentioned in the thread "https://support.native-instruments....s-Not-Automatically-Recognized-by-Logic-Pro-X" where it says "Note: If using an Apple Silicon (M1) Mac, it is necessary to start Logic Pro X using Rosetta. Click here for more info.) Even, restarting Logic did not help, and the keyboard was not getting detected upon Logic loading.

However, when I switched back to "Rosetta" mode, the keyboard again became visible under "devices" in "control surface setup" box, and the transport buttons started working. (ie Issue 1 is no longer happening) Also, just to check, I turned off "Rosetta" mode, and I find that it is still remaining, even in native mode. And now even the transport buttons are working, at least for now!

But for Issue 2, initially, even in "Rosetta" mode, the issue persisted, and in order to bring back the instrument for the selected track in the keyboard screen, I need to click on the "keyboard icon" once more to refresh the keyboard screen! Just to be double sure, I again reverted back between "native" and "Rosetta" mode, and now all of a sudden, in "Rosetta" mode it is working fine.

I will try to provide more updates, if I have any. Being a long time NI user, and very much satisfied with all the NI instruments till date that I owned, I am totally lost since I am in the middle of an important assignment, and this has caused a big set back. It will be really helpful, if your team takes a look into this and posts an update.

Further update to previous post. Today, I just downloaded "Twenty Five" using Native Access. Except that nothing else has changed in my system. And now the transport buttons alongwith jog wheel is not working anymore even in "Rosetta mode".
Sequence of steps that I followed:
1. Downloaded and installed "Twenty five" using "Native Access"
2. Opened "Komplete Kontrol" in standalone mode and played/browsed few instruments from "Twenty Five".
3. Opened same file as yesterday in "Logic Pro" while "Komplete Kontrol" was running in background. Logic setting was kept in "Rosetta" mode since yesterday. Issue came back. On trying to use jog wheel to change track, it returns instrument sound instead. None of the transport buttons are working anymore.
The only change that I notice is the output port has changed from "49,716" to "50,877" in "Control Surface Setup" dialogue box for "Komplete Kontrol" device.
Again I closed everything and this time only restarted "Logic Pro" keeping all setting same same inlcluding "Rosetta" mode, without opening "Komplete Kontrol" standalone. Did not restart system, and again the thing started working.
I am now completely puzzled!

Well, my transport controls weren't working for many months and then randomly started working and it was awesome. Then about 2 weeks ago they stopped working again. I've tried all of the fixes in here and have reinstalled the controller several times over...not transport or any controls working when in "Track Instance." Super frustrating. Any ideas? I'm about ready to list this KK A61 on Reverb if anyone is interested...
