I think the reason is that NA depends on some APIs that aren't available before W7 SP2 (consequently macOS 10.9), so... it's not going to happen.

As far as the motherboard goes, I've had this machine since 2011, and it still works wonders after all these years! If I had to get a new motherboard, I'd go with the exact same model I have now. GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, Rev 1.0 (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3-rev-10). But I can tell you now, When I got this machine, the guys at PC Audio Labs told me that it would last a lifetime! The only hardware that's failed so far is the DVD/CD Rom Drive, which I'm going to replace the moment I know what my funds look like. Right now, it's a Pioneer DVR219LBK, which seems to be getting power, but I can't read or write any CD's or DVD's with it, and Pioneer recommended the next model up, so I'm going to replace it with that recommended model, the Pioneer BDR212DBK, which the guys at Pioneer say will be supported by my current configuration. The only other thing that failed was the case fan, which I replaced last year after the one that was in there made the machine run warm. It gave me a warning sign it needed replacement in 2016, when it was grinding like a diesel truck. After about three more years, when it started grinding nonstop, I replaced the case fan, which I'm not sure of the make and model, it was most likely some generic 120-millimeter fan, with an Arctic F12 Standard 120-millimeter Case Fan (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002KTVFTE?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title), recommended by Brian, the current tech guy at PC Audio Labs. Let me tell you, ever since that day, my music machine has been running whisper quiet, and it is cool inside and outside!

Even more interesting, it says that Virtual Drumline 2.5 is activated within Service Center, however, when I try to open a patch, it says, "This patch is encrypted and cannot be loaded unless the library is registered properly.". Then when I open the instrument in Kontakt Player 2, it says, "Failed to acquire a license for this product.". I'm confused! Virtual Drumline 2.5 is a library made by Tapspace. Should I contact them?

Tapspace doesn't seem to be operating anymore as far as I can tell.

By the way, even if you replace your motherboard with the exact same model, it would not work since it has a different unique hardware ID which is used in the authorization procedure.

So how would I "register" Virtual Drumline if it says it's already been activated in Service Center? Also, some of the patches in my Kontakt library, despite installing the original version, claim to have been "Generated by a newer version of Kontakt". How do I downgrade them so they'll work in the current version I have? Do I reinstall just the library? Do I rebuild the database? I'm confused!

If you installed a library that requires Kontakt 5 or 6, it would say that. You cannot downgrade such libraries.

For which libraries does it throw that error?

Actually, Tapspace is still around, and they're still operational. I'm in the process of sending them an Email right this moment. Maybe they can help with the Virtual Drumline error. They're based out of Portland, Oregon, two hours north of where I live in Eugene. http://www.tapspace.com.

If you're talking about the "This patch was generated with a newer version of Kontakt" error, it specifically happens with some of the instruments in categories like "Band"and "Orchestral", things like "Mark II Sparkly Chorus.nki", and "String Ensemble.nki", which if I'm not mistaken, actually comes with the Kontakt 4 Library. I know I created patches based on "Mark II Sparkly Chorus", but from what I remember, I created them in the original version of Kontakt 4, in VST mode within Sonar. What I don't get is that these are all .nki files. How does one tell whether an .nki file is Kontakt 2, Kontakt 4.0, or even Kontakt 4.2.4?

File version is mentioned in bottom left corner of Kontakt's interface if the info line (F9 in Kontakt standalone) is enabled. However I am not sure if this field is accessible to JAWS...

I'm confused. Are you saying that F9 is the key I would press to access the file version of an instrument in standalone mode?

No, that is the key which enables Kontakt's info line, which provides tooltips when you hover above various controls, and in the left corner of it (where Kontakt's file browser is), it has a multi-page mini panel, one of those pages contains NKI version (Kontakt version requirement).

Am I right that "Mark II Sparkly Chorus" was one of the original patches in Kontakt 4? It seems that the library files on the discs I have all have the extension .pkg. Isn't that a clear indication that those are like a Mac version of .zip files? Is there a way for me to access the contents of the .pkg file so I can verify that the patch I'm looking for is in there?

.pkg files are unpacked by the factory library installer, you don't really need to open them up - the installer does.

And yeah, that patch is indeed in the factory library. However it also exists in Kontakt 5 factory library... Do you perchance also have K5 installed?

Yeah, pkgs are installer files. You can use Pacifist to poke around and/or install things piecemeal though if you want.

I'm looking at the link you provided, and it says that Pacifist is a Mac-Only solution. I have 7Zip, which is absolutely free. I wonder if that one can open .pkg files for me to view them. And I wonder, if, like Pacifist, 7Zip can replace damaged or altered files with original versions from a .pkg file.

Sorry, I assumed you had access to a Mac since you mentioned working with a pkg. On Windows I think you're probably out of luck altogether there.
(And I meant it allows you to install just the files you want without doing a full-blown installation. :) )
