Trouble loading STEMS with S8

I have recently updated my Traktor software to 2.9, Purchased STEMS files, Analyzed each, but they still are not recognized in Traktor?

Also, I drag STEMS files to the Track Collection and they do not show up in the new sub folder 'STEMS'. When dragging these files straight to the deck, it just plays as a normal music file without the divided track elements. The deck also reverts to 'Track Deck', as opposed to Stem Deck when tracks are loaded this way.

I have read in other posts that the S8 runs seamlessly with STEMS files, but in my case there is nothing "seamless" about it. Just disappointment.

Would be great to get this going. Its been exciting watching the build up to the release of such a format. I've waiting to my hands on these STEMS files with my S8.

    I'm running a Macbook Pro OS 10.10, 3.2Ghz and 8GB RAM

How is the file extension format? .stem.mp4 or just .mp4
It needs to be .stem.mp4 in order to be a real stem file

Hey, Yes they're .stems.mp4. Purchased from Tracksource.

Sorry to hear about the problem @That's Right. I'll try and help, or put you in contact with a colleague who can.

Firstly, can I ask you to try and re-analyze the tracks making sure you're using 2.9 and let me know how you get on.

Be sure to go to preferences and that your trackdeck lay out is set to STEMS instead of Track or remix deck

Thanks. Still no resolution though. I have done the usual, rebooted the computer, deleted the files and added them to the Track Collection again, analysed the tracks, again no no avail.

I have contacted Traxsource, they confirmed I downloaded stems files.

The second time I added the tracks, I am noticing, the stems icon in the Track Collection columns not showing up. Possibly could be something to do with it?

I downloaded the STEMS files on a PC, and transferred them to my Mac. I wouldn't of thought this would be the probem, but it's worth mentioning...

    OK, an update.

Please check this Knowledge Base entry to see if it helps: https://www.native-instruments.com/...-of-stem-files-with-earlier-traktor-versions/

This can happen if you add Stems to your Track Collection before upgrading to TRAKTOR 2.9.0. So if you buy Stems, load them into TRAKTOR 2.8.1, then upgraded to 2.9.0, TRAKTOR will think they’re normal Tracks instead of Stems.

The trick to solve this should be to delete the files from the collection (I recommend selecting the “Delete Traktor tags” option when doing the delete) and then importing them again. This is because TRAKTOR only identifies the format of a file when it is imported the first time.

Can you let me know if that's helpful?

    @Keir @ NI

Thanks for that update. Before I read your above reply, I did actually delete the playlist added to Traktor prior to the 2.9 update. This contained a STEMS file. I then deleted all additional Stems files, with tags, as instructed and restarted my system.

After a system reboot, opened Traktor, dragged the files into Track Collection, re-analyzed and boom! Its working

Thanks for your rapid response to my problem. Hopefully too many others will not have the same issue. :):)
