Trouble With Kontakt Not Loading Library (Albion l)

Not sure where to post this mates but hopefully someone here has experienced this and has resolved it though I doubt it...

I just tried to install Albion I into Kontakt. I did the usual...

1) Opened Native Access
2) Added new serial #
3) Went into Kontakt
4) Kontakt is not seeing Albion

I contacted Spitfire, who remotely took over my computer and did the usual... trashed preferences, etc... no such luck.

According to Spitfire support, this is the second time they have had this issue in the last month. It seems that Native Access is not communicating with Kontakt. Has anyone had this experience?

The Spitfire Tech used the NI Support Tool which ran diagnostics and sent report to NI...

As of right now, there seems to be no fix. Spitfire said this is the second time this has happened in the last month.

 

Which veresion of Kontakt? If it's 5.6.8 onwards, go to Kontakt's Options, then Libraries, look for Albion there and if the checkbox to the left of the name is dark, click it so that visibility is enabled.

I'm using Version 5.8 of Kontakt.

Right now, I am re-installing Albion... the only thing I can think of is to start from scratch. The Spitfire Tech did everything but that...

We shall see.

 

I don't think reinstall will help. Just try and do what I suggested. Visibility flag of the library was probably set to off for whatever reason.

 

I wish the issue were that simple. Albion is not appearing in that window at all.

Strangely, Native Access acknowledges Albion but it is not communicating that with Kontakt.

Hm, that is indeed weird.

 

Yup, as I mentioned, I had Spitfire tech support working remotely on the problem for a good 30-35 minutes. They said this is the second time they have seen this issue in the last month and still do not have a fix.

 

It might be worth manually downloading Kontakt 5.6.6 to see if 5.6.6 can see Albion properly and get it properly set up.

 

As we rarely hear about trains arriving on time, at home ALBION 1 has remained visible and is in charge normally, on an Apple machine under SIERRA 10.12. _

 

Thanks David, I'm on the NI site now... not sure who to download version 5.6.6... I only have the option for 5.7

Just type Kontakt in there. You'll get a list of versions.

 

Thanks again for all the help. This install has been hell... I was able to download Version 5.6 and get Kontakt to see Albion but now the system is installing 24 GBs worth of the Kontaky Factory Library so I'm still waiting... I`ll let you know when I'm up and running. Hopefully everything works out now... Not sure why Spitfire Techs would not suggest what you did... to go back to Version 5.6?

 

You don't need the factory library at all, cancel that install.

 

Made me think about this. Give it a look if you haven't fixed the issue yet. Your issue might be similar.

Hey Guys,

Well, I was able to access Albion finally after downgrading to Kontakt 5.6 on Saturday. The frustrating part is (and thankfully this was just an experiment project), when I tried to open the project this morning, I got a message from Digital Performer that it could not find the Albion library.

So I went into Kontakt, loaded Albion manually but none of the sounds I had on Saturday loaded.

At this point, I'm hesitant to say that downgrading was a success.

This is so strange...

I`ll check it out later. Right now I am communicating with Spitfire as well to get this resolved. Apparently, there have been several instances of this happening so maybe we can get this cleared up for future installs.

Thanks for all your knowledge in this. I sent Spitfire the link you shared. They responded that my issue is something entirely different...

Honestly, I'm a bit stumped and confused... Spitfire claims its an issue with Native Instruments... I'm trying to figure this out... am I the only person having this issue? I have a hard time believing I'm the only one using Kontakt with Albion...

Its very frustrating. I purchased Albion a week ago and have only dabbled with it. I have been able to manually load it in Kontakt every time but nothing is saved when I go back to use it so I am not working on it... its a very frustrating wait.
