    Hi!

I have a weird problem with Kontakt and the True Strike percussion library update.

I went on Native Access the other day and saw there was an update for True Strike.

I hit "update", not realizing that it is a completely redesigned interface from Project Sam.

Now none of my projects, templates, etc. will load in Kontakt (or Kontakt inside VE Pro, I tried both).

The new version will open in Kontakt 6 Free Player, but not Kontakt Full 5.81, which is what I use.

To make matters worse, none of my old Kontakt multis that have instances of True Strike will load at all, because True Strike now doesn't automatically look for the old instrument, and you can't run both the old True Strike and the update on the same machine according to Project Sam.

I got rid of the new update, went into Time Machine, and reloaded the old True Strike folder with subfolders to my samples drive, went into Native Access and had it fix/repair by looking for the new folder, it authorized it, but no luck.

It displays the same behaviour, showing up in Free Player 6, but not showing up Kontakt Full 5.82., which worked fine before the update.

Project Sam, on their site, says both the old and the new will load in Kontakt Full 5.1 or later.

None of my multi's containing True Strike will load at all, even the other instruments that are not True Strike, so I can't manually recreate the multis.

I can't figure the problem...is it Native Access vs. Service Center? (I authorized in Native Access, don't know if I even have Service Center anymore?), a preferences problem, computer gremlins, what?

Can't work at the moment because of it.

    Many thanks for any help/suggestions!

When you load one of your multis, you should get a samples missing dialog. When you point it to the location of the updated TS2, AFAIK it should contain all the same samples as older version (and they likely added some new ones - but I bet they kept all the old ones too), so that should work out. No?

Hey I will try that first thing in the AM.

And thanks very much for the reply!

    I really appreciate that.

I did spend a whole lot of time with this today, when I needed to be writing.

And I've tried so many ways to get that back, including allot of Time-Machine stuff, earlier versions of Kontakt, but to no avail.

I have tried reloading, but it just gives me a missing library dialog, and then loads nothing at all, instead of the choice of skipping the instruments that are missing and reloading the rest (other companies/libraries).

If I could just load the rest of the multi, I could find a workaround for the missing Project Sam True Strike 2 stuff, but it won't just load any of the other stuff unrelated to True Strike at all.

And the also the errors of "created in a later version of Kontakt and can't load" kind of thing.

I can't be the only other person on the planet that needs to revisit stuff I did last week, last month. last year?

I am worried about just being able to getting any work done in the future, not just a small inconvenience, as every time I load something there are multiple errors for just this one specific sample library?

I hope they come up with a solution to run both the old stuff automatically loading with no workarounds whatsoever, and their new player plugin (which seems cool!) loading if that's the case, otherwise this company's percussion sample-library is a complete dead loss in terms of actually working day-to-day.

I can't tell you how many times a day/week I need to revisit a cue or project or score from a week/month/year before?

Anyways, thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them tomorrow (USA EST) and post back.

I've gotten in touch with Project Sam again too, so maybe they will come up with an effortless/ transparent solution for all of us?

They seem like a cool company?

    Thanks again!

Yes so when you get to that point, just click on Search Folder then point it to the folder where you have TS2 update installed. This is a pretty basic Kontakt workflow - it's all explained in the manual.

Hi, any update on this? I'm having the same problem. After the update the library no longer shows up in Kontakt at all. When I manually try to load the instruments I get an error saying that the library is not installed while Native Instruments indicates it is installed perfectly.
I tried to reinstall it as well without luck.
Any help would be appreciated as it seriously disrupts my workflow as well right now.
