Tonight I ran my first live run with the new update.

I played from 9pm to 11:45 with no issues, then the program became unresponsive for 20 seconds, then changed to a smaller window stating that the program had stopped working. Then suddenly a really loud BUZZ came through Audio 8 DJ device. REALLY LOUD.

As soon as I pressed ok to close the program. The Buzz went away after the program finished closing.

I was able to reload Traktor and start using it again withing a minute, and didnt experience this issue again throughout the rest of the night. Made me a bag of nerves until 2:30am when we closed.

    - is anyone else crashing after 2 to 3 hours of play?
    - Should I un-install and go back to my previous version?
    - More Testing to re-create the issue?

I had a problem just like that. The program have never crashed before, but after installing 1.2.1 the hole program just froze and I had to restart Traktor. Now I allways have a backup disc with a 30 min. mix on with me in the dj bag.

But it just happend this one time.

If it happens again, then Im going back to older version.

Scary stuff... more than walking through a dark alleyway after the club with all your gear.
Everyone above, report it to NI and include the specific crash log so we can start moving forward with Traktor.

Thanks for your post, it was very timely for me.

Funny thing, the exact same thing just happened to me with the Audio 8... Traktor wasn't even running. I think the 'BUZZ' sound was actually a stutter in the audio that was playing in WinAmp; and it was really loud. This has never happened before.

I don't think the Audio 8 DJ drivers were updated in Traktor version 1.2.1. It still shows version 2.0.10.001.

Yes. Traktor has crashed twiced on me on two consecutive days both with different audio interfaces.

The first crash happened when using an Audio 2 interface (USB), the second when using my Korg Zero 8 (firewire).

Both times it totally crashed and i was unable to recover or kill the software without using Task Manager.

I've only just upgraded from T3 and already think I've wasted my money. Am having other 'buggy' problems with it too.

My DAW is fully optimised and way over spec. All drivers are up to date so if anyone from NI tries to come back with some pathetic driver related excuse they will get a mouth full!

My advise to anyone considering purchasing/upgrading to Traktor Pro is DON'T DO IT! Not yet anyway. Wait till they get to version 3.something when all the bugs have been ironed out and you can be sure that this currently unreliable piece of software won't let you down in front of a crowd of hundreds of people.

    Never again NI!

i just hope they work out on the technical issues rather than adding more bells (that we don't even use) to the software.

It would be really help to know your setup and your conditions.. that kind of freeze can be due to anything but Traktor. so what type of computer do you have, what OS,etc..
Did you do a fresh start before playing or turned you computer on from sleep?
Did you plug/unplug your audio interface before playing as well..

    Hi Goonzy,

I currently use a HP Touchsmart IQ520UK All-In-One PC (64 bit) with Win XP Tablet Edition (32 bit).

This PC comes natively with Vista 64 bit but I had some spike issues that I just couldn't get rid of no matter what, so I wiped it and installed the above. No spikes at all now so I know it wasn't that.

The computer was freshly started, nothing unplugged before or during the set.

    However...

Since my last post I have updated the BIOS. An enhancement to ACPI was among other things mentioned in the update notes but the relavance of this was for users with Windows 7 NOT XP users like me.

After updating the BIOS it has not yet, fingers crossed, crashed after leaving it running on cruise mode with interaction every now and again for hours and hours on end.

I still don't fully trust it though and will be running it parallel with my T3 laptop until I am satisfied it won't let me down. Everything crossed!

Did put in a ticket request and sent them the crash logs but I have heard nothing from NI. Not overly impressed with the support on that one.

No crash now for 2 shows.

Ok, the new update hasn't crashed on me for two 5 hour events.

The 1st crash must have worked the bugs out or something.

    My setup is

    Sony Vaio / Vista
    Vestax VCI-100
    Audio 8
    Traktor Scratch Pro

This laptop is for traktor use only, and has been quite stable up until the most recent update, but has only crashed once, but the display does freeze on me while some songs load.

I have the same thing, when i play a set after 60 minutes or more the thing crashes. I can shutdown the program. Only sound is gone and the meters are frozen.

im using a HP DV7000 serie notebook with a dualcore cpu 2.4ghz and 4096 ram and the audio8 dj and traktor pro 1.2.
Im using a different account for Traktor cause it only loads necessary drivers and no other BS im using with my admin account. I did all extra tweaks like disable wifi, usb power stuff yada yada.
I really cant do a set in a crowded club when the shizzle freezes after 1 hr. Is there any progress on this problem? I really like using traktor, but if it keeps crashing i have to switch to normal cd/vinyl and get rid of Traktor which i dont want.

I spoke with support I was ask to replicate the distortion sound using the internal sound card. I cant make up a ticket because I am using the scratch amp only as a sound card though 1 stereo channel , and Ni wont trouble shoot because there no longer affilated with stanton. Well I am being forced to go out and buy the audio 4 which is bull just so i can make sure ..I have support and that I will not have any errors..crashes bugs, ect. I am using a new Mac book to heres the specs Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1

    traktor 1.2.1 is very unstable

it crashed on me when i was editing tags/importing cover art~ not really crashing as other functions still works but decks stopped playing, timecodes dont work and clicking the play button by mouse doesnt work, nothing can be done to fix this except a traktor restart

another well known bug is when you load two of the same tracks into decks A and B, very often you'd get a random ascii/whatever writing on the "BPM" window and traktor would crash. so far it happened to me about 5 times

I never had any problem like this on 1.1.2

PLUS in DUO : where the hell is the scratch panel/timecode calibration box? Choosing "audio4dj + traktor scratch" doesnt enable those mentioned "4 layout options" instead i get a "default layout" and no scratch panel

btw im using audio4dj and controlling timecodes using pioneer CDJs
