I would recommend upgrading to the lastest ver of traktor 1.2.6. Make sure you update service centre as well.

    download the latest patch

in the setup you can chose to install the audio 8 driver with it

did you let it install the driver?

did you have the audio 8 plugged in while that?
    that could cause problems

    Welcome to the forum.

First off you need to stop listening to the guy that told you that.
In fact i would question that persons grip on reality;)

What have you done to set Traktor up?
    What connections have you made?
There is a detailed step-by-step on how to connect the Audio 8. Have you followed it..?

Traktor will have installed into a new location. You will have to update the icon that you use to point to the new version. You are probably still starting 1.2.2. Make sure you run the wizard on startup and tick that you have an audio 8. As Karlos mentioned there is detiled step by step to help you.

you can permanently deacitvate it by starting the audio 8 dj settings program

but it's weird that you weren't getting ANY signal

do your leds light up when running the cdjs?

went through that trouble shooting guide. i think it is still my computer not recognises the audio 8 dj. i am running a macbook pro i7 2010 model. Now the one conclusion i came up with is that my macbooks doesnt have 2.0 usb ports ? so i went out and bought a powered 2.0 USB hub. still nothing ?
    ---
oh the reason i assumed this is because in system profiler Contents hardware and under USB the audio 8 dj isnt listed ? starting to get worried
    ---
ok news up date. is it possible to blow the led on the audio 8 dj ? i kept un plugging and plugging it back in then half the input mode lights werent on so i was left with the phono led and software lock then i did it again and those two lights are now out ?

can you confirm - do you have the Audio 8 Settings Tool installed (it's a small icon which appears on the right of your menu bar if you enable the 'autostart' mode

    Your Mac has USB 2.0.
Have you tried changing the USB cable. If your Mac does not show the Audio 8 in System Profile then you should start with the most obvious issue. The cable.
