    Hi Guys,

I am having a bit of a problem...

While using TSP with vinyl i can not get TSP to sync...

Are there any particular settings i should have on or off in TSP? or does it actually not sync in vinyl mode.

All of the beats are similar, between 125 and 131 so there shouldn't be any problems there i just cant seem to get round this problem!

Thanks for any help guys :)

Do these tracks have a Gridmarker and Beatgrids?
Traktor needs the Grid for syncing tracks.

Yeah, they all work perfectly and sync in time if i am not using the timecode vinyl and i am just using it like a normal traktor setup.

Well its not going to sync the timecode vinyl. That is contolled by a external source... hence your turntable... hence the pitch control on your turntable.

I know that, i was thinking that if i have a track playing which sounds a bit out then clicking sync will snap it to the closest beat and therefore sync the two tracks

    same thing

heres the thing i had the same problem or so i thought--ne way i thought that they were supposed to sync-they cant because they are an outside source--dudes right. but i didnt learn this till today when i updated my soft ware from the box soft ware to the version in the service center. IF YOU DO NOT UPDATE THE DEC 15TH UPDATE your vinyls should actually sync-even tho they shouldnt. mine did- BUT the reason why i updated was sometimes on a few tracks when they were in sync there would be a crackling and poping sound (kind of an old school record sound)--i am using a macbook pro osx 2.53 so idk if that helps but its got me confused. i just tap the "g" or "b" button (sync) to keep the phase centered now......not as cool but w/e ive got other problems to deal with :)

You can momentarily sync with timecode. Whether or not it stays synced depends on the TC signal. This is brought up at least 3-4 times/day. The only time I encounter an issue with sync is when keylock is on. Otherwise sync is fine, and the tracks stay there until I nudge the deck or adjust the pitch... or go to the fridge for a beer and come back 5 minutes later.

but do you pitch yourself on the deck or leave the pitch and press sync? this is what noone is willing to explicitly say, for some odd reason.

LOL, you have to choose yourself which you want to use, sync or pitch fader. Nobody here is going to force you to use one or the other.

I think it's much easier to use the TT pitch fader to keep it in sync. It doesn't require that much attention. Keep your ears on the beats and an occasional glance at the phase meter (if you beatgrid.) Ignore the BPMs. The constant fluctuations in hundreths of a BPM is nothing to worry about and can be distracting.

there are two differnt sync-options syncing one deck to one controlled by tc:
press sync for adjusting tempo and snap beat to beat, but non permanent, you can then control the track with tc again, or switch to sync permanently, then you have to switch to internal play also, otherwise there are troubles sometimes, the second deck then also follows all changes on the first (tc controlled deck). but be careful: if you stop playback on deck 1 deck 2 also stops :)
except from issues with trying permanent sync and tc control at the same time (what is technically impossible) i never had any issues with this config. i do switch sync on and off with buttons on my midi-controller.

you can beatmatch when you set both decks to the same bpm with the turntables pitch slider.

cause of the small pitch variations from the timecode, sync always hits the wrong bpm.

this is a bug and hopefully it gets fixed soon.
