    Hi guys.

would love to hear some best advises regarding setup where im going to use 900NXS as a soundcard for Traktor. so there are few questions id like to clear:

    1) Do i need to connect cdjs and mixer L/R rca's or it doesnt matter if a cdj has a digital cable out into mixer?

2)Will i need timecode cds if using djm900nxs soundcard?

3)What is the best Audio settings for glitchfree/crackless gig: 441Khz/ 256 or 48Khz/512?

    Thanks

You don't need Traktor Scratch or timecode CD's. Just use CDJ's in HID mode.

    1. You can use Analogue L/R RCAs, or Digital RCA. If you are using the DJM900 soundcard you don't need either.

    2. No.

    3. 99.9% of commercial music is 44.1kHz so that would be the ideal setting. Latency is the lowest you can use without drops in audio.

u need to aggregate ur two cdj's on ur mac at Utilities/Audio Midi Setup then add a devices by clicking the + sign on the left bottom of the window, u can see ur two cdj's if already connected via usb or usb hub if u have other things connected, click + then u check the two cdj's on ur new aggregate audio devices u just make, u need to do this to control or use both cdj's on each channel of ur mixer, then u open traktor go to audio device then select aggregate that u make earlier, then go to traktor output routing choose external and assign the 4 channels from output deck A and B, lastly push the link on both cdj's to assign left cdj to deck A and right cdj to deck B, from there u can control the two decks without timecode cd's, its HID setup by the way, this is my setup using cdj's as sound cards, i hope this helps.
    ---
by the way u need to download the driver of the 900 nexus mixer and setup from there if ur using ur mixer as sound card and choosing usb input in each mixer channel.

@mixman8888 mate thanks, but again i repeat - i know how to use and connect in HID mode! i want to try & test now 900nxs as a soundcard. tho i do get to work it, but im only able to control tracks only using timecode cds

@Masterbit_Tf ive seen this video before. all the say - connect usb to laptop, set inputs, outputs and you ready to go.... oh and in the video it says switch to USB on a 900nsx, but nothing happend for me.
the only i get to work is after i load timecode cds and switch to CD/Line on a 900nxs.

so there are still gaps for me - why it says to switch to USB on 900nxs and how can i use this setup with out TimeCodes?

assuming u connected the 2 cdjs and mixer via usb, choose audio setup in traktor to 900nxs (not the aggregate) as output then setup the audio output deck A and B channels, select the usb input in the mixer, don't use the scratch mode use the track deck on the deck window selection. there u go! using Hid for the 2 cdj's and ur sound card is ur mixer.

    ok, ur question is:
    1) Do i need to connect cdjs and mixer L/R rca's or it doesnt matter if a cdj has a digital cable out into mixer?
answer: i guess u don't need the rca cable when the digital output is plug-in, well theres a setup in utility/menu botton on the cdj.
2)Will i need timecode cds if using djm900nxs sound card?
answer: up to u, if u want hid or timecode, u said u tried it.
3)What is the best Audio settings for glitchfree/crackless gig: 441Khz/ 256 or 48Khz/512?
answer: its up to ur computer actually, how it can handle it, but the higher the better sound quality.

actually what do want for ur setup? I'm guessing u want hid control for cdj and mixer for sound card?

@mixman8888 so as i understand there is only 2 ways : 1)with timecodes as usual, just 900nxs as a soundcard. 2)without timecods, cdjs as hid control and 900nxs as a soundcard

there is no other option for scenario where 900nxs involved, right?

Not sure from the responses if you have everything working, do you have the CDJs working in HID and the DJM as your sound card now?

as for me i use it almost for a year now, i tried the djm nexus to be my sound card, its stable. I'm a dj working in a big club every night, we have a big setup, we have nexuses, i just use the cdj's as my sound card not the djm nxs mixer because MINUS ONE USB PLUG for my mac to accommodate, just saying, more wires more trouble.

@makar1 havent tried yet that option, to use 900nxs as a soundcard and connect both cdjs with usb cables. on mac i have only 2usb ports and i dont have a hub.

    other 2 methods works OK.

@mixman8888 - same here mate, resident and usually we have djm800 and some gigs 900nxs.

and to be honest when i know it will be CDJS2000 then i prefer Rekordbox / USB or Link :)
