I just got back from a gig where I used NI Kontakt as a stand alone. Midway through the gig the Kontakt went out of tune. Instead of an octave it would play an octave plus or minus some cents. It was also out of tune A-440. It was unusable and thank goodness I had brought a backup XW-P1. How can I remedy this? I want to keep using Kontakt5, but I can't lay out whole songs with this problem. Any advice?

It's hard to suggest any solutions when one doesn't know what triggered the detuning.

What would trigger detuning? That feature was not advertised in the web site before I bought it! Not only was it out of tune, it would not play correct intervals - try to play an octave- no octave, but some other interval. Unplayable.

I dunno, spurious pitch bend messages?

I could not duplicate it today. Wasn't pitch bend - That is only used in this type performance to change the Leslie on the B3. I used an Alesis Q88 controller, a Korg Nano controller (volume, B3 drawbars, percussion, etc), and a Macbook Pro loaded with Kontakt5. The headphone output from the Macbook went to a direct box and on to the PA. I didn't have anything plugged in - ran off the Macbook's battery charged at 99% when the gig started. The Alesis Q88 and the Korg Nano run off USB. One thing, the battery drain may have done it. It was in the 20% range when I stopped the Macbook and used another board I had brought. Weird thing, it wasn't just out of tune, it would not play whatever notes were selected. It played whatever it wanted to! Today with the battery charged it worked fine. I think I'll keep it plugged in.

ED, are you serious Kontakt can detune at lower power? That's too funny :)

Computers can generally become very weird on low power...

Thanks, all. I appreciate the support. I will keep it plugged in from now on. You cannot believe the feeling when a played an octave on the controller and got a 7 1/2!! My bandmates thought I was trying to get some jazz into a classic rock tune.
