Hi ,Im using TS Pro with cd palyers. Sometimes i use the sync buttons to make perfect my beatmatching. However, when I play with turntables the sync butttons dont sync the tracks, they just mess it. Does anyone knows why? Thanks

Is it that the tracks are matched in tempo but not phase? Does the BPM read correctly? Are the same tracks syncing fine with CD timecontrol or in internal? Does it start all wonky or does it drift after a few beats? If tracks are synced before the timecode is calibrated (after dropping the needle on the vinyl) then the BPM will be off. It takes a second to calibrate.
I use sync for matching tempo but not phase, and it usually works fine.

the tracks are synced perfectly with cds,all the tempo and beatgriids is everything fine. just with turntables i have this problem. and i sync them after the calibration, after the needle drops..
i don't use phase meters,im talking about the tempo...

I don't know what's going on then. I haven't had too many problems with syncing the tempo unless keylock is on then it can be way off. Hope someone else has some insight for you.

I am having the same problem I think. Whenever I click the Sync button the pitch / bpm isn't the same as the Master deck's. If I repeatedly press the Sync button, the pitch / bpm jumps around. Surely if Traktor knows the BPM of the Master deck it should match the two identically and not keep changing. This changing value can be a whole 1.5 bpms out!

Both tracks are beat gridded perfectly btw.

Any ideas or peeps with the same issue?

id play 2 audio records and check sync on them 1 table may be fluctuating causing driff

what iused to do back in time was to glide tempo sliders back n forth to clean

if you have problem percist get tables calibrated

I don't think it's because the Technics are drifting as I can manually beat match 2 tracks with my ears and have them stay in sync for minutes with no drift. Besides, the fact the BPM jumps around would suggest that the records playing is all over the place; one second fast, next second slow.

What happens for me is that each time I press the sync button it changes the BPM even though the Master track's BPM is fixed. So say the master is 100 bpm... if I press sync on the other deck it can jump to like 99.5, then on re-press 100.8, then 98.9, 100.2, etc etc... never the same.

If I press the sync button playing internally (ie: not through vinyl) then it's bang on.

Any peeps had this and sussed out what it might be? Kind of defeats the purpose of the software if I have to manually adjust the deck's pitch after syncing.

This problem has to do with the flutter of a SL 1210 - or any other turntable.

If you watch closely to the track bpm, while having vinyl timecode input,
you wil see that the tempo goes up and down..
    (Keep track in sync mode)

ON AVERAGE this will give a sync for 2 vinyls,
but on any given moment it can vary from -0.5% to +0.5% (dep on turntable)

It would be great if TP would know the difference, but it does not.

by pressing sync button on traktor you just change the tempo of virtual deck n match the phase...
it also change the mode from absolut to relative...

    in relative mode...
the track speed can be changed by timecode... (pitch, bend, spin)
but not in exact possition of the timecode player... (time possition & %value of pich fader)

by using CDJ to play this synced track, the beat will always in sync...
    because, CDJ play timecode constanly.....

this constant speed can't be produced by a TURNTABLE...
synced track will be altered by the unconstant speed of your turntable....
that why if using turntable you wont be able to perfectly sync 2 track...

but will it go out of sync so horribly fast? if so, then NI was horribly misleading in their marketing and i basically spent a lot of money for nothing.

    John,
If you are using turntables you will need to use the pitchfaders to keep it in beatmatched. Think of Scratch Pro as "vinyl emulation." The sync button is only good for a momentary sync. In internal mode it works differently.

Ah, good. Then use vinyl pretty much as you did in in SSL.
