Tutorial: How to Create Custom Images for Kits in Maschine Studio and 2.0 Software.

Those are the only ones that can have images, NI have never given the ability to use images for groups or projects

 

Thänx Tooshka, yes, you are right, it is not given by NI, but i think there is a polibility to do, because there are images from NI. Its more the question someone is fit enough ti find the way. im not good enough in computerdoing. Thänx yuma

 

There is no way, user content in the group and project browser are all grouped directly under Maschine, there simply is no way of doing it

 

What about for Sounds? And if so how?

 

No, projects/Groups/Sounds are all bundled under Maschine and can not be imaged, this is something that will not change, NI do not make changes like this, they will not update the user side of the browser, they have no interest in that

ive watched the videos on this and still have no image, got the custom kit to show up but no artwork.....any ideas for my situation..? using Mac

 

Kits as in Groups can not have artwork
Only FX/Instruments/Samples can have artwork

 

Maybe you misunderstood me, i have many drum sounds in .wav ,I watched a maschine masters tutorial on the beginning of this thread and also watched a vip soundlab vid that shows how to create you own custom kit using your own drum sounds,so when you browse on maschine sw or hw it will show up,i went a step further and followed the instructions on how to upload my own images but after trying 3x still no result, i have the default image showing up next to my custom drum kit , obviously this can be done....since many have already done along with these tutorial masters that have achieved it.....its a shame nobody will provide a custom image template for free,money money MONEY-i guess after my studio,s49,imac,etc i havent spent enough yet.....-_- SmH

Yes i did misundestand you, a Kit is more commonly known as a group (A group is a collection of pads that make up a kit)
If you had said sample folder i would have set you up, however using that tutorial is a little outdated, you SHOULD update the content of the .meta file, also it is worth noting that the browser is going through changes inline with Kontrol, so now it is not just an image folder but also a database folder that will give you your category/UI color/Shortname too

 

Thanks again Tooshka -even with the templates i was off on my sizes,i monkied around with dimensions and found this to be the correct sizes for images on Maschine Studio***********

not entirely sure what you are reading those sizes in ? the mst artwork and vb artwork are not pixel sizes there, always work with pixel sizes..

Does not have a single set size, i usually do the width around 120-130 and let the height decide itself

OK, some hints to make your life easier...

In your photo/image editor make three projects
MST_logo template
OSO_logo template
VB_logo template
Make the background transparent and pick a font (Not too big) and write your first title, centre it and save the template
Now every time you need these files for another plugin/sample pack, you can just load the template, select the text, change the title and export
Note you need these three projects because they can not be stretched resized easily to each other.

MST_plugin
Download the image of the plugin from the developers website, resize and constrain proportions, just resize the width between 120-130 and export as png to relevant folder.

This just leaves
MST_artwork
VB_artwork
OK always create the MST_artwork first, it shares proportions with vb_artwork, so once you have created and saved as png, then you can resize and constrain proportions, resize the 134 to 96 and you are done, save as png for vb_artwork.

The time it took me to write this post (5 minutes) i could have done 2 using my templates

 

Oh i see!! I had it in inches- now it makes sense why they werent sizing right-looks like i went as far as to find an acceptable size in inches lmfao! wow did i overthink this haha or maybe not enough thinking ....hmmmm hahaha-Thanks Tooshka- Not sure why NI doesnt have TOOSHKA on theyre payroll
