I spent a while looking for ways to get the machine controller to allow me to send midi information from the Maschine controller to various DAWs using the 2.0 software. I have finally found a good solution and thought I would share my method for others who were confused since this method is 100% different than how we did it in version 1 and its not covered in the manual.

Since you are in midi control mode, you dont have to actually set up anything in machine, DAW recieves midi data in any way. (at least ableton and pro tools does.)
What i cant do is send midi data in maschine mode.
Let me know if you can do that :)

Edit: ah sorry i misunderstood, maschine is playing the sounds.. i thought daw was.
    Thats something. thanks :)

Sure, this works, but putting the Maschine controller into MIDI mode is a compromise at best. It's probably better to stay in Maschine mode and select "host" in the mixer's output tab. Maschine then sends its MIDI to the host DAW. However there are problems with MIDI feedback. See this thread for example: http://www.native-instruments.com/f...2-0-as-plugin-in-a-DAW-w-o-internal-sequencer

i don't like using the Maschine Pads in MIDI Mode, because the feel is completely different to Control Mode.
