Hey there, there are no broken links, you have the links and I've included screenshots of where to look for the preview installlers on the respective pages.
If you are not seeing your U-he plug ins in the Komplete Kontrol browser please follow the steps here:
My KOMPLETE KONTROL Browser is Empty or Incomplete

Also, previews also work in the Komplete Kontrol software, no need for the keyboard to have this functionality.

Thank you for chiming in Kymela and Jeremy!

Re: "broken links": the link ( https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000867998-U-he-Sales-Special-2020 ) leads me to a page which says "

    oops
You're not authorized to access this page

this even though I have an account there and am logged in. So, perhaps not a "broken link" in the most purely technical sense, but why no access?

It great to read that I should be able to get the U-he Hive 2 presets and previews working in the KK software. I will go thru the new information presented, see if I can accomplish that, and report back.

    Thanks again!

    OK, first I quit KK.

Then, having already installed U-he Hive 2 (demo) on my machine, I downloaded the Hive 2 NKS Previews from here:

    https://u-he.com/products/hive/

and followed the instruction to add them to Hive 2.

Then, I ran the Hive 2 installer again (see pic), since the original first run of it was before the Hive 2 NKS Previews were on my machine.

This may not have been necessary, but I figured possibly the Hive 2 installer had to do something with the registry or file system to set up the NKS Previews and was not able to do so the first time when those were not present.

Then I followed the as-given instructions here:

    https://support.native-instruments....MPLETE-KONTROL-Browser-is-Empty-or-Incomplete

to delete and rebuild the KK database.

It took about 3 hours, but led to success!

The Hive 2 product and it's presets are now in the KK library, and the previews work fine! (Picture attached)

    Thanks very much!

Q1: Can I replace the new, empty, favorites file with the one I saved before I did all of the above?

I would like to get my already-chosen favorites back, if possible, but I'd rather restart picking favorites from scratch than make an inconsistent mess of things.

Here is a picture of the new favorites directory:

( I have the old favorites.db3 in 'hold' until I settle this.)

Q2: What are the favorites.db3-shm and favorites.db3-wal files? They were not there before.

    Thanks!

Different question, open a new thread. But just make a backup and delete. The other files are prob journal files because KK is running they are a temp file but again, since this is a “solved thread and now finally your issue is solved, move new questions to your own thread to save bloating this out for future users with this issue.

To me it's the same issue. I acknowledge that you disagree JesterMgee.

General advice to backup before experimenting, is just that, general advice. It's not an answer to a specific question, the aim of which is to know what can/cannot be safely done rather than to guess.

To me, the thread/issue "completed, solved" if someone who knows for a fact can provide a technically accurate, authoritative answer as to whether restoring the favorites file should be OK, will work, and will not require a new rebuild of the database. I think that information belongs here to complete the map for anyone who needs to follow the exact same path in the future to add Hive 2 to KK with full functionality.

Oh, right - it works! Thanks for correcting me, and sorry I have been confusing other newbies as myself!
