yes I know it's too early... but i just tried Guru demo and was blew away. The built-in step sequencer and smartchop (not sure the name?) are the right things i wish Battery has too. I'm tired of using host sequencer's drum programmer, which is always non-intuitive at all. In fact I'm planning to buy an old MPC to trigger battery2 just because it's simple yet powerful sequencer. No dis to NI i love battery for what it is of course it looks clearer and is easier to learn but I wish more sequencer-related features to come in next upgrade (uh... if any).

btw, the new groove agent 3 looks good too...

yea i have tried the Guru demo as well and i found the step sequencer good but i hate having to constantly change views to edit samples and change steps,i have thought of using reaktor to trigger battery drum samples.

Agree that some sort of sequencer in battery would be pretty key. I used to use Tuareg by Brambos a lot just because it was so easy to use. This weekend I tried using Battery inside Project 5 quite a bit (works great for loading up lots of NI products and copying sequences etc). Battery worked well because you can draw in sequences across the piano roll. I used patterns in limelite as a start and then phattened up the kicks and snares by matching up battery parts. Worked great!

Anyhow, a sequencer would still be nice for Batt 3.
