A (long) while back, I got Prism and used it in an older (5?) version of Reaktor. At some point I fiddled with some of the snapshots. I haven't used it for a couple of years. I just now upgraded to Reaktor 6, pulled in the Prism .ens, and I find lots of snapshots have the "*" by their name... indicating that I'm still looking at the state of the snapshots from when I messed with them a couple of years ago? Or does that mean something else?

I was not aware that these temporary changes were remembered. Across versions of Reaktor even...?

I think this might be a simple question, but I haven't found the answer yet: how do I get back the pristine set of snapshots that came with the prism install? Is there a way in Reaktor to say "discard changes"?

At some point later I'll try to get my head around how to save snapshots independent of the ensemble in R6... I never figured that out back when I was last playing with Reaktor. For whatever reason I found the whole thing stubbornly confusing to me.

    Thanks much!

FYI, if you edit a 'Factory' item - like Prism - you should always save your changed version in your 'User Library', and use an amended name. That means you don't overwrite the original.

supposedly, we are able to download via Native Access, but I don't understand how to do that.

You're probably fine. Whenever the macro controls move it adds the asterisk.

Is there a way to lock a system-installed ens file? Seems pretty easy to accidentally overwrite when just messing around. I'll try the re-download, but it seems like kind of an odd "always-be-careful" setup. Does R6 have a better way of managing patches/snapshots within an ensemble? I'd like to A) not have to always worry about accidentally overwriting the ensemble, and B) be able to save patches/snapshots in a way that if I update the ensemble (say, via a NI bugfix or enhancement) I can still load and use my patches.

Maybe I've missed some basic documentation somewhere, but I feel like I'm more confused than I should be...

This, unless you saved the ens there's no way it could remember your edits

as i said before, save it to your User Library. then the original is left untouched.
