Where on earth is the Uninstall Button in Native Access?!!!
NI can you please respond here?! Am I too stupid or are your serious about that?

My hard drive is simply not big enough to download all the stuff that came with my Maschine. So I would love to uninstall stuff that I decided not to use anymore and try out the new good stuff. But I won't because it seems, I might endup in a complete mess.

I was only able to manually remove some folders and now the content changed to repair.
I mean I found this video:
    https://support.native-instruments....alling-NI-Software-from-a-Mac-Computer-VIDEO-
I could try and go replicate all this and probably have it solved then.

But I cannot imagine that you really force me to do that just to remove sample pack? (these are the drive space killers)

On windows you can uninstall apps just like any program. On mac, for most stuff, you can just drag stuff to trash.

Well, I am not talking about the programs! Guess if I try to uninstall the Maschine Software it might work like this.
But nobody wants to do this (on a regular basis).

Im talking about the Sample Packs, the Expansions! There you need to scan EVERY DIRECTORY (as mentioned in the video in the post above!) and delete "strange" files in System/Library/Preferences blah. etc.

I mean that sounds like little difference, dont you agree?

Simchris: Could be I understood you wrong. If I interpret your reply as a suggestion to NI. Then of course I fully agree.
If NI doesn't want to implement an Uninstall Button for whatever reason, then at least make your sample packs etc. Self-Contained packages where you have (perhaps if windows wants that) an Uninstaller on Windows and on Mac just can crag it to trash.

But currently you really spread your files all over some directories where the sun never shines and then let me as your customer clean up your mess.

Simchris, I really appreciate your will to help here but see post 1 ;)

This thread is not about me, not knowing how to uninstall!
This thread is supposed to be about if there is a simple and user friendly way to uninstall a sample pack that I perhaps missed.
... and if that does not exist then I thought, I can build up some momentum here to let NI know that this feature is somehow missed by us customers.

Am I really the only Maschine or Komplete User on this planet who misses such a simple feature?!
I mean we talk about 100's of Gigs on hard drives. People want to swap out Extensions in a clear, reproducible, clean way.

Wonder how AKAI does that, btw.

For every action a software system offers you need to also offer the inverse action.
I mean you also offer a way to switch off your Maschine once you turned it on.
...and dont post a link instead how to tear open your device and cut some wires there instead ;)

Your not alone. To be frank, it makes me a bit nervous to see NA in this state 5 years after it's launch in 2016. There are also other issues with it.

One may choose where the content is installed (at least on Win). And I install Expansions to a separate folder from Kontakt content. So, it is easier to locate it and delete, if needed.

I have K13 U CE, so maybe hundred of content folders....
I agree, it would be pleasant if NI Added Uninstall Button to NA.

Thx Kubrak for pointing this out.
But on Mac its not just the content itself you have to delete.
there are so called .plist files somewhere in macOS folders where a normal user should not be fumbling around.
If I dont delete them then NA wil still keep showing the product as installed but broken ("Repair").

Are you sure that NA properly reacts to just deleting a folder? I would suspect some similar stuff remains in the windows registry then.

Not sure, I haven´t tried to delete Expansion, I have lot of disk space. But not a big problem for me to delete it also in registry, if needed.

Lack of uninstall option for EVERYTHING in Native Access is something NI should have fixed before Retina, M1, Win11, Monterey, whatever.

IMHO, this omission from NA is embarrassing, to say the least... o_O

The inability to run Native Access without an active Internet connection isn't exactly a confidence builder either. It is cloud like, although set and forget. The Roland cloud requires an monthly Internet reactivation, but you are at least able to see what you have got installed or not, off-line.
