Unknown error 1021.

    When entering my serial i got this Unknown error 1021.
    Why Why Why , somebody else got that message too

    how we send registration support , i mean all the question are answerd and no SEND button at the bottom or elsewhere, how can i send it , this is annoying me , buy the hardware 48h later still cant plug it and just getting info or support seem impossible (or really complicated ) then search Unknown error 1021. on NI website with no mention about it , why giving number if we cant do nothing with it , the tradition continued .......

    Was this when registering your F1 hardware on the NI site?

    I also get an error but it's a different code. So far I've been unable to register my F1.

    still no news , very bad , now on day number 4 without the possibility to use it while i pay for it , why we have to enter a serial for using the hardware ,its not a software and not physicaly possible to crack it , really dont get it ridiculous when the registery system fail . PLEASE can someone at least can tell me what the hell is unknown error 1021, you know an unknown but numbered error !

    Once again , best product on the market for djs with the worst customers service you will EVER experience

    Hang on a sec. Where are you trying to register the hardware. The hardware doesn't need registering to use it. Are you sure you are not trying to put the hardware serial number into service centre instead of the software serial?

    well when you open the box of the f1 , there is a paper with a url saying to go there before everything and download driver for F1 and ask the serial of the hardware, that is under the F1 on a sticker , its step 1 so i cannot really do nothing wrong before that right .
    I know normaly i never see serial for any hardware but this time yes, and on the register page , there is a option for the F1 so i figure yes we have to do it b4 anything , i cant even download the software 2.5 cuz everything block at this unknown error 1201

    Just wonder why they didt put a cd as usual to avoid those complicated step for nothing, now on day 5 with any news from NI but they still have my money , worst i ask the store to change it and they told me because i enter the serial on the web site, this unit cant be return !
    i was planning having fun this week end and still searching for it , i can understand problem but ignoring customer , piss me off big time , just send me a valid serial its not the end of the world damn

    im an old timer user , from final scratch 1.5 , so im not dumb or a newbies on how install or use their gear, at first i found strange too that i have to register but hey , i just follow the instruction from Native that come with the gear so if i did it wrong way , that mean this paper will confused most of the user that will buy this Kontrol F1

    by the way im not using service center for it, as i said their is a url and this is where we download driver, software and control center .
    Think im a new costumer that dont have any native product.
    I dont want to update my actual traktor, im working with that laptop at club and the bugs in 2.5 dont give me the opportunity to use it without loosing my job so i want to do a new install in my desktop where there is no native product into it to discover the software and then when its gonna be playable in front of people , i will updated my 2.0

    BTW when you plug the F1 into Traktor 2.0 as a midi control, all the bugs related to wave disapearing in 2.5 are present in 2.0 , that mean this is the F1 that cause this , if that can help people that fixt bug , its not 2.5 the cause on this cuz it never happen in 2.0 before .

    I don't think the F1 works in 2.0.

    Are you using a windows computer?

    Did you have any other version of Traktor that allowed you to upgrade to 2.5 already, or do you need the upgrade from the F1 to do so? Just curious, as it would change the next steps you could take.

    yes im on windows 7 32 and yes i want to use a totally new licence for 2.5 that come with the F1 , the reason is simple, if my laptop die at work, i will still have the possibility to use one from somewhere else on the spot and register the second computer im allowed with my S4 licence .

    this is why i wrote , take me as a brand new user that dont have any product or cd with traktor on it , anyway they will have some very soon new customer that will get this problem,

    and yes f1 work with 2.0 as a simple midi controller (i cant see why F1 cant work in MIDI)

    I think what Count Zero meant is that you don't have to register it, at least I don't think so. I think when you register the SW it knows, like when I registered my Traktor S4 software, or Maschine software...they know about the hardware. Maybe F1 is different though, I wouldn't think you'd need additional drivers, but maybe you do. I'll be interested to see.

    The FAQ and comparison thing says the F1 is plug and play.

    there is no cd in the box so how can i use it , i need traktor 2.5 and the driver right!

    maybe i explain myself wrong but to me its not hard to understand , to use this hardware we need a software and driver that normaly come on cd or dvd in the box for every product in the world, this time there is no cd or dvd but a paper saying before doing anything to go at www.nativeblablabla /go/f1 and when there they ask at first , to enter the serial of the unit to get access of the link that will provide me the software and driver . so for those who said i dont need to register , how im getting traktor and driver then , i need physicaly or by download but software wont appear if i scream loud native right .

    me i think that because its was supose to be release on the 30th, well they do serial on that date and because its tomorrow , it wont work till the 30th , wich is okay if we know it in advance or simply not selling it before user can use it
    anyway if tomorrow by magic its working , well i will be able to judge how we are important as customer , mistake is allright but hiding it by ignoring people until the problem will be fixt by itself , kinda sad (coincidence or not , the day they release F1 to store to the official release announce ,the office was close !)

    No, that is not the case with every product in the world, that's what I'm saying. I think the problem you're running into is that you actually need to register your F1 to register Traktor, that's what you're running into. I already have 2.5, I got it because I had Traktor 2.0, which I had because I had Traktor S4...when I bought my S4. My S4 worked perfectly with Traktor the first time I plugged it in. Maybe the drivers were already included in the Traktor S4 software, that's probably why it worked, but I'm not sure.

    NI doesn't really respond specifically to these posts btw, you have to open a ticket. Best of luck.

    TODAY is the official release day and TODAY and YESTERDAY the office was open. just not over the weekend and not on monday, because that's a holiday in germany.

    please note also that this is the user forum, not the support. so to talk to anyone from NI, you have to contact support.

    i did it on the first day, nway its the 30 and still got the error message so not impress this morning.
    Now going back to the store where i bough it and his thing about serial i enter on NI website that make impossible to get refound , we will debate on this big time !

    about what i said , every product in the world that need soft came with soft, well maybe not all got cd or DVD but the link they write on paper give the option to REALLY download it , not telling you they dont know what going on BUT they label it with a number (and different user with same problem got different error number )
    Since Thursday ,everyday i got an email from NI saying that my problem will be fixt in less then 24 hour (automatic answerd from support) , stop sending me this and fix it !

    We can only say this so many times, you're posting the wrong place. This is not a tech support forum.

    Not every product in the world needs software, plug and play my friend.

    after talking to someone at native that told me how to do it in other way , wich is downloading demo and then activate it, i got this error message

    You have tried to activate an update, upgrade or crossgrade, but your User Account does not contain the full product license that this update, upgrade or crossgrade license is based on. Possibly this full product license is assigned to another User Account that you may have created using a different e-mail address. Please contact the Native Instruments Registration Support and submit the serial number in question.

    i know this is not the support center BUT 99% of time , answerd could be found way more faster here then the ghost support service so that why i come here too, and if i can reduce confusion by elaborate about my bug to other dude that broke their head to try make their product working instead of having a good time , well my day will be better cuz its not cool at all spending 300$ , not able to use it and never got any info from support after 6 day saying every day , max 24hour dear costumer !.So if some people that think to buy it come here to read comment, at least they not gonna buy it now if they have the same profil as mine, wich is i need to do a fresh install not an upgrade

    The problem this time is , Native give as a demo on their site, the update 2.5 , wich never gonna work , we need 2.0 first ! so No 2.0 in the box and no 2.0 on the site , what can we do except wondering how beautifull will be the led on the F1 when they gonna finaly turn on!

    the version you can download via service center and the demo are different in some ways, maybe it's because of that. anyways - i'm not the reg support and again: you get answer from NI within 2-3 WORKING DAYS. if not, i'm happy to escalate your ticket number.

    Yea whoever gave you the advice to download the demo and try that was incorrect.. It might be good to alert wherever those calls are outsourced to that that's not a solution :)

    FreshFluke's comment about the demo version and the version there being different is what made me realize the demo one doesn't work with the activation key you get in the F1 box... I was getting that same cross grade message (probably be good to update that message as well).... I know I was very excitedly playing with the 2.5 demo version while my F1 was being fedex'd to my house so not sure if other people will have that issue..... Since following the instructions on the sheet is totally out of the question :p And I was hoping to just bypass the process and get going :-/

    But yea not sure where you are running into issues. if you go to that go-f1 link you should be able to enter the hardware serial number on the back of the device or on that card and it takes you to the other flavor of 2.5 that does work with that key...

    Product Activation is fun :)
    But seeing as how this is all 5 days old I'm assuming you got it working... Just figured I'd share my experience..

    Alright enough chat... time to start screwing around with the F1!
