Unknown medium calib. failed?

well i sent my audio 8 dj back for repair and i was sent back a brand new audio 8 dj, well now i only ever get Unknown medium calib. failed? any 1 got any ideas?

the scope seems square and this is on both decks, settings on my A8DJ is set to cd/line but also tried just vinyl. all connections are tight. is there any thing else i can provide to aid in assistance of this annoying problem?

if you have a friend w an audio 8 try yours on his system

my bud swore his audio8 was bad and tried it on my system and it worked flawless.
ended up being his computer having issues

 

no other audio 8's but i got another mac (mac pro), so will try, it looks like the audio 8 from what i read

 

Hmm, and you tried control CDs and vinyl? That blows my "input is stuck on phono preamp" pet theory then

(a friend of mine had that problem once, my control code troubleshooting repertoire is pretty slim)

 

this is really annoying, still waiting for a reply from the ticket.

UPDATE:

i have now tried it on my mac pro and still the same problem
it wont calib on traktor scratch pro or Traktor scratch either

but....

i swapped the cables round so that

tt/cd mixer goes to line in on mixer
line mixer goes to phono

this way i got it to calibrate but instead of sound on line it was a loud whine

and on phono i had to turn the master volume down to -90db to make it bearable as it had distorted beyond belief!

just to add it does calibrate on vinyl

2nd UPDATE:

by simply leaving the tt/cd mixer cables out i can calibrate.
now its running im met with by reading here the "cdj1000" bug and absolute mode, getting stutters all the time and cue points dont really work, deck B is forever in relative mode and refuses to go into absolute/scratch mode, and its practically unusable via cdj's

 

what was original reason for sending back first unit?

User standard rca cables and try again. Plug your CDJs or TTs directly into the Audio8, and use standard rca's to go back to the mixer.

If you still experience an issue, "Please N.I could you holla back" doesn't really get a response here...I'd call and ask that the support ticket be reopened because your problem was not resolved.

 

Bah, does sound like some quality control issues with the A8 recently.. I was gonna treat myself to one in the new year, too

 

I have not been able to get proper vinyl calibration.

With cdj's it works perfectly. And it used to work perfectly with the vinyls, but i only used control cd's for the past 4 months (with traktor scratch, and now with pro) and last night tried to calibrate the control vinyls and i got this 'unkown medium. calibration failed' message over and over again.
Check everything, input modes, chords, even tried two different types of needles.
I guess i'll get in touch with tech support, im just curious if theres a known history of audio 8's breaking down for control vinyl but still working fine with the cd's?

 

I just got traktor pro scratch...

Installed eventually (wont get into that)

working ok it was, (I have CDJ100's)

went onto it today, didnt touch any settings or anything and
I am geting the same msg as you, also when I play music internally I get a sort of popping noise.

Need urgent help... from Irealnd spent all my credit trying to ring you guys in the US
