Unregistered Traktor Z2

Greetings!

I have a question regarding the traktor z2. I recently purchased a traktor z2 second hand online, and i was unaware that you needed to register the product online. The previous owner will not co-operate and will not unregister the product. ( Apparently cannot remember his NI account password OR his email password.... Hmmm ) I just want to be able to use the product considering i spent a lot of money and this is very frustrating, I also cannot knowingly resell this product to some one else and screw them over. So my question is.. If i was to purchase my own copy of traktor scratch pro in order to use the traktor z2.. Will it work or am i going to pay more money for the software and still not be able to use the z2? Hopefully someone has some insight in this matter!

Show NI the order (was made online right? so you should have something to show?)

Show them the Serial Number on your Z2 and they can unregister the Traktor Key respectively create you a new one.

I am not shure at all, bur as far as I remember the NI EULA does not allow to sell Hardware without its software anyway.

However, I wouldn't buy a new scratch package at all. Though that would work.

 

I bought the z2 in person, although it was advertised on www.kijiji.ca. I already emailed customer support and all they had to say was that i should return the product if the previous owner will not unregister, but thats not an option. They sent him an email asking him to unregister or give confirmation of sale, but like i said he is not co-operating and will not do so. I feel my only option left is to throw it in the garbage or buy my own software but i am skeptical if i buy the software, the z2 still wont work. Also i read somewhere that it has to be registered in order to get driver updates for the z2, so even if it does work i wont be able to update the z2? What a mess..

 

Not sure but, why don't download a demo of Traktor Scratch Pro and see if it detects the Z2. Start off there.. If that works you can buy a retail copy with the vinyl and control CDs.

 

A few months ago I bought a used Audio 8 and purchased the Traktor Scratch Pro kit online from NI. I literally bought a retail Z2 yesterday, and its plug and play. I didn't have to register the hardware or the software and it worked just fine.

 

Exactly correct. I have a audio 4 and a Z2 SECOND HAND and they work flawless.
