I am wondering how the unregistering process works. I have FM7, Absynth3, and guitar Rig1, all of which are not compatible with Pro Tools 8. I contacted NI support, and they sent me the form which I need to fill out and send back to them in order for the unregister process to be completed, no problem there.
I bought Komplete synths and guitar rig 3 to replace the software I am planning on selling, and NI support says that Absynth 4(which came in Komplete Synths) and Guitar rig 3 will no longer be valid because the serial numbers associated with them are considered upgrades to my previous software installations, so if I unregister Absynth 3 and Guitar rig 1, my new versions will not be supported. I am confused, I paid full price for these, not the upgrade price, specifically to avoid any complications. If I sell my outdated software, is my new full price software no good? That doesn't really make any sense to me, but I could be missing something.
I submitted a new support ticket, but they just sent back the same info regarding this that they sent the first time. Did they misunderstand me, or me them, or is this really how it works, in which case I just paid full price for guitar rig3 and Komplete Synths and wasted several hundred dollars?
Thanks for any info, I'm sure I'm misunderstanding something, but I want to make sure before I sell something , and then have to buy it again!

From what you've said, they're definitely misunderstanding you. I'll send a link to this thread to a couple people and see if they can help.

Yes, the issue was resolved yesterday. Very cool, tech support actually called me and handled all issues in about 5 minutes. I have never had to deal with tech support before, but it was a very pleasant and easy experience. I don't know why some of the people on the forum complain about the support system. They were very professional, easy to work with, and totally addressed my issues and resolved them without any problems whatsoever. I am very pleased with the outcome. And you were right, ew, they had misunderstood, as I had 2 serials that were no longer necessary. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
