I have a Macbook 2.ghz with 2gb ram but the loading of patches takes forever and playback is stuttery , when will the Mac intel version be released?

October is the projected release date of the UB version. Just a few more weeks now.

Meanwhile, you could install a Windows partition using Boot Camp and then use the K2 Windows version if you like.

I'm running K2 in Rosetta on a Mac Pro. It's emulated, so it's not really running at full speed so I have occasional audio glitches, but it does work. It's fine for patch programming, but not for serious playing. :)

    Hi all,

November is correct. we will at that time put the latest Kontakt engine under all Bandstand versions i.e. also PC and PPC. this will give you improved porformance besides more stability and many engine bug fixes.

    best,
    Markus

I sure hope NI is going to make this a free upgrade, for the sake of us Mac users who have limped along for the better part of a year with a PPC version.

Unless you registered the product on Sept. 12th or later, you will pay 25 Euros/ $29 for an update:

    Hi Markus
just wondering, can you confirm that the new NI plug ins will work on the slow Mac such as Mac Mini 1.66GHz Core Duo with 1 GB RAM? I am planning on getting one of those but I want to make sure that it will work with the samplers so I can at least do something on it. And I want to know if it will work without hiccups or audio glitches. I will be using M-Audio Firewire interface, if that helps.
Also from a Komplete Care owner's point of view; it's a shame that NI discontinued support for some of it's older apps while Mac is already in the transition of Intel CPU. For owners of ABsynth3, they are hopelessly left out when they switch to Intel-Mac unless they pay for the upgrade. That's extortion!
And I still don't know what I have got for my Komplete Care this year, man, SHAME on NI!!!

Have you been living under a rock for the last month and a half?

If you are a Komplete Care 2006 owner, you get:
    -- a free upgrade to Komplete 4
-- all of the UB updates for free (via download)
    -- an NI shop coupon
    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=komplete4offers_us
(click on "Info for NI Komplete Care 2006 owners)

Regarding NI not making Absynth 3 UB compatible while Absynth 4 is, this is common practice. Companies don't add features and support a product forever. There are plenty of other companies that combined MacIntel compatibility with a new version upgrade.

Just wondering, maybe you have used the coupon, besides that, what else have you got so far? It's November and you will soon be forced to pay for next year's Komplete care. So you think the Komplete care is worth it?!
I know some company only offer UB with upgrade, but NI has claiming that they will make UB version of their current stuff long ago and now it's pratically never a free upgrade for it's loyal user (people that own and use NI stuff before Sept.) It's incorrect to say that NI is the worst of them all, but safe to say it's not far from the bunch.
BTW, anyway to start a poll and see how many Komplete Care owner think it's worth it to continue the Care program?

Sorry my comment seems frustrated, but in fact, NI is pretty darn late when it comes to UB adaption. And very very unfortunately that many sampler rely on it's Kontakt engine. You don't know how frustrated I am if you don't use Intel-Mac.

Jimy, all of NI's products will work on the Core Solo Mac Mini. The performance won't be fantastic (the dual is much faster) but it will work.

One additional note: all Mac Mini's have 2.5" hard drives in them -- the same small drives as go inside laptops. You will probably find that they will not stream very well if you use Kontakt with DFD (disk streaming). They'll work OK for basic streaming needs but not hundreds of voices of polyphony.
